What is Social Studio?
One place to write, schedule and publish everywhere you post: YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn and TikTok. It's in the menu under Studios (and Social in the phone tab bar). On a computer its pages are in one bar at the top: Overview, Create ▾ (Write, From a video), Calendar, Engage ▾ (Comments, Keyword replies, Automations) and Analytics; Create and Engage open a small menu that says what each page is for. Accounts and Write a post are on the right of the bar. The selected section is shown in soft yellow. The page's own name appears below it (for example Calendar, with "Social Studio · Plan" above it), its line and its own buttons. On Overview, Social Studio appears once as the page heading. On a phone, one switcher at the top shows where you are (for example "Social Studio · Calendar"): tap it to see every page in groups (Create, Plan, Engage, Measure) and Accounts; the pen button next to it is Write a post. The Overview opens with the channels you connected (Write a post is in the bar). The tabs on the dark band at the top of the Overview match the bar: Overview, Create ▾, Calendar, Engage ▾ (Comments, Keyword replies, Automations) and Analytics; Create and Engage open a small menu. It shows an alert when an account needs reconnecting, followed by real activity for the week: Published, Scheduled, Replies sent, and anything that Needs you. Your social toolkit opens Writing Studio, From a video, the Calendar, Comments, Keyword replies, and Automations (Analytics is under Measure in the bar). Coming up shows each scheduled post with its day, platform, time, and status. This month shows posts, AI writing, and connected accounts against the current plan. Write, From a video, the thumbnail designer, publishing and scheduling, the Calendar, Comments, Keyword replies, Analytics (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Threads) and Automations (with Webhooks) are ready. LinkedIn and TikTok can be connected for posting; their comments and numbers come later.
How do I connect an account?
Social Studio → Accounts shows every platform in one list: Connect, Reconnect, Check again or Coming soon, with your plan's connected accounts beside it. Connect account at the top lets you pick a platform. Social Studio → Accounts → Connect next to the platform. Davnai shows what it will be allowed to do, then sends you to the platform's own sign-in page. Choose the channel, Page or account and allow Davnai. You come back to Davnai with the account connected. More than one account of a platform (two YouTube channels, two Instagram accounts…): press Connect on the Another … row under that platform. Each one counts toward your plan's connected accounts. YouTube (Google asks which account and channel) and TikTok (it asks who is signing in) let you pick the other account; Instagram, Threads, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Snapchat sign in with the account open in your browser, so switch to the other account on their website first. If the platform signs in to an account that's already connected, Davnai says so and nothing new is added.
- YouTube: your channel (the Google account needs a YouTube channel).
- Facebook: your Page. If you manage several Pages, Davnai asks which ones to connect; each Page counts as one connected account.
- Instagram: a professional (business or creator) account.
- Threads: your Threads profile.
- LinkedIn: your profile. Company pages come once LinkedIn approves Davnai.
- TikTok: your account. Posts go up with the privacy you choose (Everyone, Friends, Followers or Only me).
- LinkedIn: your personal profile (posting). LinkedIn Page connects a company Page you're an admin of (Super admin or Content admin): Davnai posts as the Page, shows its comments and numbers, and replies when you approve. If you manage several Pages, Davnai asks which ones; each Page counts as one connected account. LinkedIn Pages show Coming soon until LinkedIn has approved Davnai.
A platform shown as Coming soon isn't available on Davnai yet.
How do I write a post, article, script or email?
Open Social Media → Create → Write (the Writing Studio) → Write new. Social Media's Write a post opens the same workspace.
- Choose the kind: Social post, Article / blog, Video script, Short script (30 to 60 seconds) or Email.
- For a post, choose where it goes: LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, Bluesky and/or Pinterest (Threads posts are up to 500 characters).
- Say what it's about (the topic). Optionally set the audience, tone, length, purpose, call to action and language.
- Choose how many versions (1 to 3) and whether to enable Sound like you (the voice note in Brand Kit).
- Press Write with Davnai. Each platform gets its own wording and length; switch platforms with the switch above the versions. The character count shows the platform's limit.
The switch at the top moves between Write new, Rewrite and My drafts; beside it you see how much AI writing you have left this month. For each version you can Copy, Save draft, Rewrite, Edit by hand or add a Picture. Once there is work to clear, Start fresh opens a clean writing brief. Davnai never invents facts or numbers: where a detail would help it leaves a placeholder in square brackets, like [your result], for you to fill in. Posts have Publish or schedule. Scripts have Use in Recording Studio, which saves a teleprompter copy and opens it without starting recording. Articles and emails can be copied and saved.
How do I rewrite something?
On a version: Rewrite → Shorter, Longer, Simpler, More professional, More conversational, For another platform or Another version. The new words are highlighted; Undo rewrite puts yours back. To rewrite something you already have, use the Rewrite tab: paste it, choose how to change it, compare it with yours, then Use this, Try again or Save draft. In a saved article or script, select a paragraph and press Rewrite selected part to change just that part. Each write or rewrite uses 1 AI writing; if Davnai can't write it, it doesn't count.
Where are my drafts?
Writing Studio → My drafts. Filter the list by Posts, Articles, Scripts or Emails. Open one (on a computer it opens beside the list; on a phone it fills the screen) to change it, rewrite part of it, add or change its picture, copy it or delete it (deleting a draft is permanent; its picture stays in your pictures).
How do I add a picture to a post?
Only when you want one: Add a picture → upload one, choose From your pictures (uploads, designs and AI images from Image Studio), Design a graphic (your opening line on your Brand Kit colours) or Make an AI image from a description. Designing a graphic or making an AI image uses 1 AI image from your plan. Davnai never adds a picture by itself.
How do I get everything to post a finished video?
Social Studio → From a video.
- Choose a finished video, a Short or a recording. Davnai reads what is said in it; for a finished video the times are the finished video's own (cuts, an opening hook and an intro are taken into account).
- Tick what to make: Titles (5 options), Description, Chapters, Keywords (and hashtags), Posts for each platform, Subtitle files and A thumbnail. For posts, the platforms you've connected start switched on; tap a logo to switch it off. Platforms you haven't connected are listed below with Connect; you can still switch one on and Davnai writes the post for you to copy. YouTube isn't in this list: the titles, description, chapters, keywords and thumbnail are the YouTube part. Your packages sits under the video, four at a time.
- Press Make the package. It uses 1 AI writing, however many parts you tick. Subtitle files and the thumbnail designer are free.
A video without spoken words (music or sound only), or one whose words Davnai is still writing down (a few minutes after it arrives, for example from Dropbox or Google Drive), needs a line in What's in the video? first: Davnai writes from that and the video's name, and never makes things up. Chapters and subtitle files need spoken words, so come back for them once the words are written down.
Edited and joined videos use their own words: the words of the videos they were made from, moved to where they play (also when a join includes other edited videos), or, once you've asked for AI help on one, the words written down from it. When you make an edit or a join, any of its videos that has no words yet is written down straight away. Joins, trims, new shapes and quick-tool edits can all be posted and written for, and a copy made for AI help isn't listed separately: you see the edited video once. In the package you can choose a title (the count shows when YouTube may cut it off), edit or rewrite anything, change a chapter's name or time (the description updates), add or remove keywords, copy each part or Copy everything, and Save all as drafts (the YouTube title and description and each post go to Write → Drafts). Changes save by themselves. Davnai writes only from what is said in the video; where a detail would help it leaves a placeholder in square brackets, like [link]. Your packages are listed under Your packages. Publish or schedule in a package posts the video with its words.
Why didn't my video get chapters?
YouTube shows chapters only when there are at least 3, the first starts at 0:00 and each is at least 10 seconds long. Davnai follows those rules; a very short video or a Short gets none. You can add your own with Add; the package warns you if YouTube wouldn't show them.
How do I get subtitle files (SRT or VTT)?
In a package with Subtitle files ticked, press SRT or VTT. They're timed to the finished video (not the original recording) in the language it was spoken, ready to upload on YouTube under Subtitles.
How do I design a YouTube thumbnail?
From a package press Design the thumbnail (or tick A thumbnail when making it).
- Background: A video frame (Davnai finds the best frames by itself: sharp and well lit; or drag Any moment to pick your own), Your pictures, or An AI image (uses 1 AI image).
- Layout: Big words, Words left, Before / after, Question, List or Clean.
- Words: two lines (the second in the highlight colour); Suggest words from the title fills them in. 2 to 5 words read best.
- Colours (your Brand Kit colours first), Style (Bold, Outline or Boxed) and Extras (a label, an arrow, a circle, your logo).
The small preview shows it the size people see it in search, and tells you if the words are hard to read. Use as thumbnail saves it (1280 × 720, under YouTube's 2 MB limit) as the video's thumbnail; Download gives you the picture.
How do I publish or schedule a post?
Go to Social Studio → Overview → Publish or schedule (or New post in the Calendar). You can also start from a draft (Publish or Schedule on a version), or from a video package (Publish or schedule), and Davnai fills in the words and the video for you.
- Where: tick the connected accounts to post to. An account that can't take what you've chosen says why (for example "can't take this" or "reconnect first").
- What: press Add a video or picture (or Change) to choose one. You can search all your videos, filter Finished videos, Shorts or Recordings, put the newest or oldest first, and press Load more for older ones. Each platform has its own words in its own tab, with a character count that turns red when it's too long. Write it for me writes them for you (one AI writing use); with several accounts ticked, Write all of them for me does every platform at once, still one use. With a video, Davnai writes from what's said in it; without one, it adapts the words you already have (for example the post you wrote in Write) for each platform, or writes them from What's it about?. A post opened from Write (Publish or schedule) brings its words to every account you tick, so you don't have to write it again. YouTube also asks for a title, who can watch, a category and whether it's made for kids (YouTube asks every channel, every time); its Extras (thumbnail, tags) are optional. TikTok has its own settings, below.
- When: Publish now, or Schedule with a date and time.
Each account you post to counts as one post towards your month (see plans below); the form shows how many it will use.
How do I post a video as soon as it's made?
Every finished video has a Post button where you find it: under each card in the project's Edited tab and in the Library, on Home in Up next (Post it) and Today → Ready to post (Post), and in the "Your video is ready" email (Post it). Post opens the post screen with that video attached, the accounts that suit it already ticked (a wide video: YouTube, LinkedIn and Facebook; a tall one: TikTok, Instagram and YouTube) and the words for each platform written from what's said in the video (one AI writing use, as with Write all of them for me). It starts on Next free time (your next open posting time; Pick a time when you haven't set posting times). Tick or untick accounts, change any words, then schedule or publish. Back to the project (or the Library, or Home) takes you back. Once a video is posted or scheduled, its card shows Posted or Scheduled for the day, with See the post.
Schedule all (for Shorts or parts made together: in Ready to schedule at the top of a project's Edited tab, where each group shows the recording it came from and the newest two show first, on the Ready card or in the email), or Schedule these (tick several edited videos in the Library): choose How often (One a day, Every other day, Three a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, or Two a day), Starting and At (My posting times, or a set time), and the accounts. Each video gets its own day and time; if another post already uses that time it moves an hour later and says so. Davnai writes each video's words for every platform (one AI writing use per video; when your AI writing is used up, the video's name is used and you can change it with Check words). The arrows on a row change the order. YouTube asks once whether the videos are made for children. Nothing goes out until you press Schedule; each account each video goes to counts as one post. TikTok isn't in Schedule all, because TikTok asks for your choices on every video: post those one at a time with Post.
Every finished video shows its shape and the places it suits above Post: Wide 16:9 (YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn), Tall 9:16 (TikTok, Reels, Shorts), Square 1:1 (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) or Portrait 4:5 (Instagram, Facebook). For a YouTube package (title ideas, description, chapters, thumbnail), open From a video and choose the video; when the same project has Shorts that aren't posted yet, the package shows Also from this video with Schedule the Shorts.
Can I post a video that has music but no talking?
Yes. Any video works, with or without spoken words. The video picker shows Spoken words or Music or sound only under each one. For a video without speech, type a line in What's it about? and press Write it for me: Davnai writes from the video's name and your line (it never makes up details). Chapters and subtitles need spoken words, so they show "Not for this video"; everything else works. From a video works the same way.
Can Davnai Agent post and schedule for me?
Yes. Tap Davnai Agent in the bottom-right corner (on any page) and say what you want, for example "Post my latest video to both Facebook pages tomorrow at 6 pm", "What's waiting for my approval?", "Cancel Thursday's Facebook post" or "Pause my weekly series". It prepares a card (the post with its accounts and time, the waiting posts, or the automation), and nothing happens until you tap Approve and schedule, Approve all, Cancel post or Pause it. Posts count toward your plan exactly as when you post yourself. TikTok posts are made in New post, because TikTok asks for its own choices on every post. See "Davnai Agent" for more.
Which time zone is my scheduled time in?
Your device's, to start with: under the date and time it says Your time (your city). To post at a time in another place (for example your audience is in Lagos and you live in Canada), press Change and search for a city. The screen then shows both, for example "6:00 pm in Lagos · 12:00 pm your time". Tick Use Lagos for all my posts to keep it for every post, on every device (handy when you travel: your posts stay on your audience's time). The Calendar shows times in your own time zone, and adds "in Lagos" to posts set in another one.
What does the Calendar show?
Social Studio → Calendar shows every post: Month, Week (by hour) and List (with filters: Needs you, Scheduled, Publishing, Published). On a wide screen, Month has a panel beside it: that month's posts by platform as a ring, and how many are published, scheduled or need you. Each post shows its platform, account, time and status:
- Scheduled: waiting for its time. Drag it to another day (or hour in Week) to move it, or open it to Change the words, title or time, Publish now or Cancel.
- Publishing: going up now. Big videos go up in pieces; a bar shows how far it's got.
- Published: live. View on the platform opens it.
- Needs you: the platform turned it down. The reason is shown, you get an email, and Try again sends it again once it's fixed. If you disconnected the account and connected it again, Try again sends the post to that platform's account you have now (when you have just one there).
The page keeps itself up to date while something is publishing. In the Social menu, Calendar shows how many posts are scheduled this week. On Social Studio's home, if a day has nothing planned, Coming up shows your best time that day with Plan a post.
What happens if a post fails?
If a platform is just busy or slow, Davnai tries again by itself a few times over the next few hours. If the platform turns the post down (for example the video is too long for that account, a picture is the wrong kind, or the account needs reconnecting or is restricted), the post shows Needs you with the reason, and Davnai emails you. Nothing fails quietly. If YouTube's daily allowance for Davnai is used up, a YouTube post waits and goes out shortly after midnight Pacific time, when YouTube resets it; the post shows that reason while it waits.
Why does YouTube upload my video before the scheduled time?
YouTube videos can be large, so Davnai uploads a scheduled video up to three hours early as Private and tells YouTube when to make it public. It goes public at your time, on YouTube's side, even if something is slow.
What are the TikTok settings?
TikTok asks every app to show them each time, and Davnai follows its rules:
- Who can watch has no default; you must choose. The choices are the ones TikTok allows for your account.
- Comments, Duet and Stitch are off until you turn them on (greyed out when your account doesn't allow them).
- Disclose promotional content: tick Your brand if you're promoting yourself or your business, Branded content if someone paid you or gave you something. Branded content can't be private (only you).
- By posting you agree to TikTok's Music Usage Confirmation (and Branded Content Policy when it applies).
TikTok can take a few minutes to process a video after it's sent before it shows on your profile.
What can each platform take?
- YouTube: videos. TikTok: videos. Instagram: Reels (3 seconds to 15 minutes) or JPEG pictures.
- Facebook Pages, Threads and LinkedIn: words alone, a picture or a video.
Platforms limit how much an account can post in a day; if one says you've posted too much, Davnai tries again later.
Is there a Research page?
Not at the moment: Research (searching the web for a topic and writing a brief with sources) is switched off, and Davnai doesn't search the web. Write from what you know or paste the facts you want into Write. Research briefs saved before it was switched off are kept.
How do I see and answer comments?
Social Studio → Comments shows the newest comments on your YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Threads posts in one place, and your LinkedIn Pages' comments once LinkedIn has approved Davnai (LinkedIn doesn't let apps read a personal profile's comments, and TikTok doesn't let apps read comments). LinkedIn doesn't let apps hide comments, so LinkedIn comments have Reply and Mark done but no Hide; keyword replies aren't offered for LinkedIn. Two menus at the top choose All accounts or one account, and what to show, with a count beside each: Needs a reply, Questions, Replied or done, Replied by itself (answered by a keyword reply) and All. Search comments looks through the comments shown (author, words and post). Check for new looks again. Comments you write yourself (as the connected account) aren't listed. Each comment shows Reply, Suggest replies and Mark done; Reply and Suggest replies open the thread beside the list (from the bottom on a phone). YouTube comments held for review: YouTube holds some comments back (its spam check, often for links or new accounts, and comments you hid). They show at the top marked Held by YouTube; only you can see them until you press Publish it. Open a comment to see the post, the whole thread and:
- Suggest replies: two short replies in your Brand Kit voice. Pick one or write your own; edit freely.
- Reply: posts your reply on that platform as your account. Nothing is ever posted until you press it. Replies can be up to 10,000 characters on YouTube, 8,000 on Facebook, 2,200 on Instagram and 500 on Threads.
- Hide comment: takes it off your post. YouTube holds it for review in YouTube Studio; Facebook and Instagram show it only to the person who wrote it; Threads moves it under Hidden replies. You can show it again on the platform.
- Mark done: moves it out of Needs a reply in Davnai (nothing changes on the platform).
Suggested replies don't use your monthly AI writing (up to 100 a day). Comments are read from each platform when you open the page; press the refresh button to check for new ones, and Load older comments for more.
The number on Comments in the Social Studio menu (for example 12, "12 waiting for a reply") is how many of your newest comments are waiting for a reply across your accounts. Davnai checks at most every 30 minutes while you use Social Studio, and again whenever you open Comments for all your accounts. Only the number is kept, never the comments, so it can be a little behind until the next check.
What are keyword replies?
Keyword replies are now comment and message automations, made in Automations (side menu, under Publish): Pick a post for the quick way, or New automation for every option. The old Keyword replies page opens Automations. Davnai answers by itself when a comment or message has a word you choose, for example GUIDE or PRICE. Every plan includes automation contacts a month (Free 50, Automate 2,500, Starter 2,500, Pro 5,000: each person answered counts once a month), and extra contacts can be bought when they run out. You can also ask Davnai Agent ("reply to comments that say GUIDE and DM them my guide link"): it fills in the automation for you to check and switch on.
Starts when (a dropdown in the builder's first step):
- Comment only: a reply under the comment, no private message. Instagram, Facebook, Threads and YouTube.
- Comment & Message (most used): a reply under the comment and a private message. Instagram, Facebook and Telegram; Threads and YouTube come off with a note, because they don't allow private messages. Answer it everywhere (ticked) also answers the keyword in messages, story replies, Instagram Live comments (the private message only) and messages from your Click-to-Message ads.
- Message only: someone sends your word in a message; Davnai messages back.
- More ways to start: a story reply, a story mention, someone's first message, someone opens your link, a message from your ad.
The builder goes one step at a time: the step tabs on top (go to any step and back), Back and Next under each step, the preview beside it, and a last step, Switch on, with a summary, anything still missing (Go to it) and Keep it off for now or Switch on. Everything is saved as you go. They follow you first is in the private message step, under the link. Posts I choose loads your newest 24 posts and Load 24 more goes further back; search captions, filter by type or date, or paste a post's link.
Only comments written after an automation is switched on are answered (unless you tick Rewind); each comment once. Every answer shows in Comments as Replied by itself. For other comments, use Suggest replies on the Comments page: Davnai writes, you choose and press Reply.
Building an automation (comment, then a private message with a button)
Automations → New automation (or Comment a word, get the link) opens the builder, saved as you go:
- When: what starts it.
- A comment with your words, On which accounts (Instagram and Facebook: replies and private messages; Threads and YouTube: replies only, because they don't let apps send private messages), Which posts, and the words.
- A message with your words (for example PRICE, HOURS or BOOK), A story reply (every reply, or only ones with your words), A story mention (someone tags you in their story) or Someone's first message (the first time Davnai sees them write to that account). These start in their messages, on Instagram and Facebook (stories: Instagram only); Davnai answers right away, with no public reply, and the same person starts the same automation at most once every 12 hours.
- Someone opens your link: the automation has its own link for each account (Instagram ig.me/m/you?ref=guide, Facebook m.me/your-page?ref=guide, Telegram t.me/YourBot?start=guide) and a QR code of it (download PNG or SVG for flyers, packaging and slides). Opening it starts a chat and the automation answers straight away, no word needed. Name this link sets the word at the end (shown in Results); the builder shows how often it was opened this month and how many tapped. Instagram links work in the app, not on Instagram's website.
- A message from your ad (Instagram and Facebook): someone taps your Click-to-Message ad and writes to you (or opens the chat from it). Meta marks those messages as coming from the ad, so the automation answers them straight away. Under Which ads, tick the ads it's for (they show once someone messages you from one, or comments on one), or leave none ticked for all your ads. Words are optional: with words, only messages that use them. In Ads Manager, choose Instagram or Messenger as the ad's message destination, on the account or Page the automation is on. Results counts these as Messages from your ads. Collab and tagged posts aren't available: Instagram doesn't let apps read or answer comments on posts you don't own.
- Which posts (comments): Any post, A post I choose, My next post (Instagram and Facebook: Davnai waits for the next post you publish on each chosen account, from Davnai or the app, and answers comments on that post only), During my Lives (Instagram: people who comment your word during a Live get the private message while you're live; Davnai doesn't reply under Live comments) or My ads (all your ads, or the ones you tick; the list shows ads people have commented on). Instagram tells Davnai which ad a comment is on; on Facebook an ad's comments are answered like any post's.
- Check: They follow you first (Instagram: if not, Davnai asks them to follow and sends the link when they tap Done; you can let them continue without following). Writing back counts as tapping: on Instagram on a computer (where buttons don't show) or after accepting a message request, any reply to the first message brings the link, Once per person per post, and words to leave to you.
- Reply under the comment (comments only): one or more versions (A, B…; each shows how many people tapped after seeing it), or let AI fit each comment in your Brand Kit voice. Switch it off to send only the message.
- Private message: Two steps (they tap your button, for example Send me the guide, then get the link) or the link straight away, the first message, the button (20 characters at most) and Buttons: up to 3, each with its own words and link (for example Open the guide, Book a call, Shop the presets); Results counts taps on each. When to send: Right away (10 to 30 seconds) or after a few minutes. + Insert their name puts {first name} in the first message (or the reply under the comment): Davnai sends their first name (Facebook's name; Instagram's name, or their username when that's all it gives). When the name isn't known it's left out, so "Hi {first name}!" becomes "Hi!". The link card (with a link): its Card title (empty: the automation's name), a Line under it (optional) and the Picture on the card: My Brand Kit logo (the default; your logo on your first brand colour, wide, as Instagram and Facebook show cards), A picture from your Library, or No picture. With no Brand Kit logo yet, the card goes without a picture. On Telegram the picture goes above the first message, with the buttons under it. How the two steps read (board 102): the first message only promises what's coming ("Your discount code is ready. Tap below and I'll send it."); after the tap, Message with the link ("Here you go!", or your words), the code on its own line, then the card with its own title and button. Davnai's own first message changes to fit when you switch the tap off ("Here's the link you asked for:" with the link under it); words you typed are kept. With the tap off on a comment, the tag, Contacts folder, connected tools and anything asked after the link wait until the person writes back (a comment isn't a contact until then), so they may not happen. The code has its own box, always in sight: Send a discount code shows Code, Where to use it, Their button and Button on the card (for example Shop now); Send a link shows Discount code (optional) beside the link. The code goes after the tap, on its own line, easy to copy. Switching on is stopped while any part of the message is still in square brackets (for example "[YOUR CODE]" or "[wintercode2020]") or a code is typed into the message with the Code box empty. A file with no link also waits for a tap (Send me the file), then the file goes (Instagram and Facebook let one message answer a comment until the person replies). On messages and story replies you can send it With the first message instead. On Telegram the button under the comment is the tap, so the bot's message is the delivery: "Here you go!", the code and the buttons. What it sends: Your link (as now), or Answers to their questions: up to 10 questions, each a button people can tap (20 characters), with other words that ask it too (PRICE, COST, HOW MUCH), your answer, and a link button if you like (for example Book a call). After each answer Davnai offers the other questions again ("Anything else?"); a question your list doesn't cover gets your holding reply ("Good question! I'll reply myself soon.") and waits for you in Messages. Understand questions asked in other words (AI) matches what they type to your questions even when it's worded differently, and sends your answer exactly as you wrote it (it never makes one up); when it isn't sure, the question goes to Messages. It uses 1 AI writing per question it matches. Send a file too: a video or picture from your Library, or a PDF or audio you upload (25 MB at most), sent with the link card or with the first message. Facebook and Telegram take pictures, video, audio and PDFs; Instagram takes pictures, video and audio, and gets a PDF as a card that opens it. Test two versions of the first message: half the people get A, half get B (everything after the tap is the same). Keep the winner after 100 people keeps the version more people tapped (a near tie changes nothing), or I'll choose myself. Beside the conversation, the results show each version's taps with Keep B now and Stop the test.
- Then: Ask them questions (up to 3, one at a time): each is Tap a choice (up to 3 choices, each with its own reply and link, and Tag them with their choice) or Type an answer (200 characters), saved in Contacts under the name you give it (Interest, Budget). Ask for their email and Ask for their phone number (kept with the country code; a number without one takes the country of your Automations time zone), saved to Contacts. Check their answers: if an email or phone number doesn't look right, Davnai asks once more in your words, then says "No problem, thanks!", moves on and leaves it for you in Messages. When they'd rather not give it ("No", "no thanks", "skip", "I don't have one"), Davnai says "No problem, thanks!" and moves on straight away. Follow-ups (see below), Send new contacts to your connected tools, and a tag. The order is always: your link or their questions first, then your questions, then the email, then the phone number, all inside the platform's 24 hours. With answers, your questions start after their second answer, when none are left to ask, or 10 minutes after they go quiet. STOP ends everything.
How it will look shows the conversation as people will see it, and Try it on a comment checks your words. Press Switch on to start it: that's your OK for Davnai to reply for you. Switch off pauses it and keeps everything. The More button (three dots, beside Switch on, and at the end of every row on the Automations list) has Duplicate (a switched-off copy called "Copy of …", which opens) and Delete. Delete asks first; it stops at once, and what it already did stays: people it messaged keep their messages, their contacts stay in Contacts and its numbers stay in Results. Posting automations have the same menu on their row (deleting one leaves the posts it already scheduled in your Calendar).
Why two steps: Meta allows one private reply per comment. When the person taps your button, they message you, which lets Davnai send the link and the follow-ups for the next 24 hours. A link button alone never does that. Links go through a short Davnai address first so taps are counted (link previews and email scanners aren't counted). Every message ends with "Reply STOP to stop these messages"; anyone who replies STOP gets no more automatic messages. They come back on only by their own clear action: replying START (or UNSTOP), tapping a button in one of your messages, or pressing Start in your Telegram bot. Davnai answers "You're back on. Reply STOP any time." A new comment with your words alone doesn't turn messages back on (the public reply still goes). Contacts shows "started again" with the date.
Telegram: your own bot
Telegram automations answer with your own bot, so replies come with your name and picture, never "Davnai". Accounts → Telegram → Connect:
- In Telegram, open @BotFather and send /newbot. Give it your name and a username that ends in bot.
- BotFather sends a token. Paste it in Davnai and press Connect. It's kept sealed like your other keys and never shown again. Change the bot's picture (/setuserpic) and description (/setdescription) in BotFather.
- For comments: a channel's comments live in its discussion group. In that group, Administrators → Add admin and add your bot. Davnai notices within a minute ("Comments in … Ready").
How it works on Telegram: a bot can only write to people who have opened it, so a comment with your words gets a public reply with a button (for example Get the guide). The button opens your bot; when they press Start, your first message, its buttons, the email ask and the follow-ups arrive in the bot's chat. Telegram has no 24-hour limit: each follow-up goes at its time, and STOP still ends everything. Automations can also start from A message with your words, Someone's first message, or Someone opens your link (your start link, for example t.me/YourBot?start=guide; leave the words empty for anyone who opens the bot). Story replies and mentions aren't on Telegram (bots can't see stories). A bot doesn't count towards your plan's connected accounts; the people it answers count as automation contacts like any others. Disconnect on the Telegram page stops the bot answering and forgets its token, contacts and their journeys (the bot stays yours in BotFather).
Steps or Flow (the whole automation as a map)
At the top of the builder, Steps | Flow switches between the five steps and Flow: the same automation drawn as boxes. The first row is Starts when, Reply under it and the Private message; under the message, with Send me first, the path splits into Tapped (the link card, your follow-ups, your questions, then the folder and tag) and No tap (nothing more is sent). Click a box to edit that part beside the map. The + before the last box adds a step: another follow-up, a wait before the private message, a question, a split (a follow-up for people who didn't open the link), a folder, a tag, or Tell me (notifications when someone needs you). Something that can't go there says why (for example, follow-ups need your link with Send me first). Steps and Flow are two views of the same automation: a change in one shows in the other, and both save as you go. The page remembers Flow in its address (?view=flow), so a link opens it the same way.
Pick a post (quick setup)
The quickest way to start: Automations → Pick a post. Your recent Instagram and Facebook posts and reels show as pictures (a post that already has an automation shows its word, for example "GUIDE · on"); choose one, then fill three boxes:
- When someone comments: the word (GUIDE, PRICE…), capitals or not.
- Send them this message: start from a ready message (Free guide, Prices, Book a call, Discount code, or write your own) and change any word; + Insert their name adds their first name. Each ready message only promises what's coming; what they asked for comes after they tap.
- With this link: your link, the words on the button they tap, and the Button on the card (each ready message fills it: Open the guide, See the prices, Book a time, Shop now). Discount code shows a Code box and Where to use it: the code goes after the tap on its own line, with a card titled "Your discount" and Shop now.
The reply under the comment is filled in for you (three short versions taking turns). Switch on and new comments on that post get your message; More options opens the full builder (the reply under the comment, follow check, email, reminder and the rest). The home's three starts are Pick a post, New automation (every trigger and option) and New campaign. Under them, Start from a template shows four templates (Comment a word, get the link; Join the waitlist; Discount code; Follow to get it), each opening ready to fill, and See all 14 for the rest; on a phone the four scroll sideways. Start from a template beside Your automations opens the same panel.
The Automations home shows the last 30 days as charts: People reached each day, Where they came from (comments, messages, story replies, your link or QR code), Contacts this month (used of your plan's, as a ring) and From comment to contact (reached, got your message, opened the link, gave an email). Each automation shows its people, how many opened its link, and its last two weeks as small bars. Opening Accounts or Analytics from Automations shows Back to Automations at the top (the browser's Back button works too).
Start from a template opens a panel with the templates in groups (Popular, Grow your list, Sell, Messages, Stories, Posting) and a search. Each says where it works (for example "Instagram only"); one that can't work on your accounts is greyed out with why and what to connect. A comment template asks which post first, then opens quick setup filled in.
Join the waitlist
The Join the waitlist template (or the ready message of the same name in quick setup) needs no link: someone comments WAITLIST, the private message asks for their email, and when they give it Davnai says "You're on the list!" and tags them Waitlist in Contacts. Their name comes from their profile, so nothing else is asked; a "no" gets "No problem, thanks!". When it opens, filter Contacts by the Waitlist tag (and email them from your email tool). On Telegram the email question follows the message straight away.
One word everywhere, every comment, Rewind, Next story and codes
In the builder's first step (comment automations):
- Also when they send the word in a message or story reply: the same words start it from a message or a story reply too, so one word works everywhere (Automate, Starter and Pro).
- Answer every comment on these posts: no word needed; comments that are only emoji or @tags are skipped. It works only with Posts I choose, My next post or a post you scheduled in Davnai (never on every post).
- Rewind: also answer comments from the last 7 days: once you switch it on, Davnai also answers the matching comments from the past 7 days (Meta allows one private reply per comment, for 7 days), on the posts you chose or your newest posts.
For A story reply, Which story can be Any story or My next story: only replies to the next story you post get the message (the first reply to it settles which story that is). Start from the Next story template.
In the private message, Code (optional) adds a code like SPRING20: with Send me first it goes with the link ("Here you go! Your code: SPRING20", so asking them to follow first still works); otherwise it's on its own line under your message. On Telegram it's in the bot's message.
Inbox starters, your own templates and "seen"
- Inbox starters (Automations home → Inbox starters): up to 4 questions people can tap when they first open a chat with your Instagram account or Facebook Page (Meta calls them ice breakers), each starting one of your automations on that account. Choose the account, write each question (80 characters at most), choose its automation and press Save to Instagram (or Facebook). Remove them all and press Remove them to take them off.
- Save as my template (at the top of the builder): keeps this automation's words, messages and steps under a name. Accounts, chosen posts and anything settled for one post aren't kept. Find it under Yours in Start from a template (with a line like "Saved from GUIDE replies: a link, 2 follow-ups"); the x on it deletes it. Up to 30.
- Seen: when someone reads your messages, Instagram and Messenger can tell Davnai (read receipts). Campaign results and the From comment to email funnel then show Seen. Only people who have read receipts switched on are counted, so it can be lower than the real number. It shows once the app's webhooks include message_reads (Facebook) and messaging_seen (Instagram).
Tell me when (notifications on your phone or computer)
On Automations → Inbox starters (beside the starters) and in Settings → Notifications and emails, Tell me when sends notifications to this browser, even when Davnai isn't open. Press Switch on and allow notifications when the browser asks; Send a test checks it works, and Switch off stops them on this browser. On an iPhone or iPad, add Davnai to your Home Screen first (Share, then Add to Home Screen), open it from there and switch them on. Tick what you want to hear about:
- Someone needs me: a question your answers don't cover, or someone asking for a person. Tapping it opens their conversation in Messages.
- An account needs reconnecting (you also get the email).
- Every new email or phone number someone gives your automations.
- A campaign has finished sending, with how many it reached.
- A daily summary at 6 pm (your time zone in Automations settings): replies sent, new contacts and link opens. Nothing is sent on a day with none.
Someone needs me, An account needs reconnecting and A campaign has finished are ticked to begin with. The boxes count for all your browsers and phones; each browser is switched on by itself. If a browser says notifications are blocked, allow them for Davnai in that browser's site settings, then press Switch on again.
Follow-ups
In the builder's last step (Then), Add a follow-up adds a message that goes after the link, up to 3. Each one has:
- When: If they haven't opened it (your link goes again under your words), If they opened it (a thank-you or your next offer) or Either way. Davnai checks this at the time it's due, so someone who opened the link in the meantime doesn't get the "did you open it?" one.
- How long after the link: 1 to 23 hours. Each follow-up has its own time, and they go in that order.
- The message ({first name} fills their name), and for "if opened" or "either way" an optional button with its own link. Taps on it count in Your links on Results, as "(follow-up)".
On Instagram and Facebook they go only inside Meta's 24 hours: a follow-up that would land after that, or after they reply STOP, or while everything is paused or you've taken the conversation over, doesn't go (Activity says why). Telegram has no 24-hour limit. Follow-ups need your link, and on Instagram and Facebook the Send me button first (that tap is what opens the 24 hours). Automations made before kept their one reminder, as a follow-up "if they haven't opened it, 20 hours later".
Automate this post
You can set this up for a post that isn't up yet. While scheduling in Create a post, with Instagram or Facebook chosen, switch on Automate this post: choose the word, a ready message and your link. Davnai starts answering comments on that post the moment it goes up on each account, and not before. You can also press Automate this post on a post in the Calendar (scheduled or published) or in Comments; it opens quick setup with that post already picked. In the full builder, On which posts then shows The post I scheduled. Change it or switch it off any time in Automations.
The builder's choices are dropdowns: Starts when, Where (one or more accounts), On which posts, How it replies (your own words, where versions take turns, or AI fitting each comment), What it sends and How the link is sent. Choices an account can't use are greyed out with the reason, for example Lives and ads are Instagram only.
Templates
Start from a template on Automations (and the last step of first run) opens the builder already filled in; you add your link and check every word before Switch on: Comment a word, get the link (Comment-to-DM), Price question, Free checklist, then their email (the checklist, then "Want more like this? Type your email and I'll send you the next one."), Follow to get it (the link once they follow you), Story reply (thanks, the link and an email ask), Message a word, get an answer (FAQ: HOURS or OPENING gets your opening hours) and Welcome message (someone's first message gets a hello and your link). Each one's first message only promises what's coming, and each sets its own card title and card button (for example "Your free guide" with Open the guide, "Our prices" with See the prices), so people never see your name for the automation.
Comments in Automations
The Automations tabs: All automations, Messages, Comments, Contacts, Results (what your automations did), Analytics (the same numbers as Social Studio → Analytics), Activity and Accounts (connect or reconnect an account, in Social Studio). Conversations and Posting are filters on All your automations.
Automations → Comments is the same comments inbox as Social Studio → Comments (both stay), under the Automations tabs, so you can read comments, see what your automations replied (Replied by itself), reply, hide or mark them done without leaving Automations.
Messages
Automations → Messages has every private conversation from Instagram, Facebook and Telegram, newest first, kept for 12 months (deleted with the contact or your account). Needs you comes first: a question your answers don't cover, an answer that wasn't clear after asking twice, or someone asking for a person; the red number on Messages (and on Automations in the menu) counts them. Filter by Needs you, Davnai answering, You're answering or All, or search people and words. Open a conversation to see what they wrote and what Davnai sent. Take over stops the automation for that person while you reply yourself; the box shows how long you can still reply (Instagram and Facebook: 24 hours after their last message; Telegram: any time). Hand back to Davnai when you're done; 24 hours after your last reply it goes back by itself. Beside it: their email and phone, their answers, tags and automations, and Open in Contacts. Comments stay in Social Media → Comments (public, on your posts). A comment that started a private conversation shows Sent a message · Open the conversation, and the conversation shows Started from their comment · See the comment.
Connected tools
Settings → Connected tools connects Google Sheets (Davnai makes a "Davnai contacts" sheet in your Drive and can't see your other files; one row per person, updated when they give more, with a column for each answer), Mailchimp (people who gave an email join the audience you choose, with their tags; Mailchimp asks them to confirm) and HubSpot (a contact by email, with their answers and tags). Each uses the tool's own sign-in; Davnai only adds contacts. In an automation's last step, Send new contacts to picks the tools: a person goes as soon as they become a contact, then again when they give an email, a phone number or an answer. Disconnect stops it. Webhooks still reach any other tool.
Contacts, Results and Activity
- Automations → Contacts: everyone who tapped a button in an automation's message, with how they were found, the email and phone number they gave, their Answers (what they asked about, and each answer by its name; a long typed answer shows in full when you point at it), their tags, their last message and whether they follow you (Instagram). Search by name, handle, email or phone; filter by Has an email, Answered, a choice (for example Interest: Group course), a tag or Stopped messages. Export (CSV) downloads the people shown, with a column for each answer name; Send to Mailchimp and others opens Webhooks (the event "Someone gives their email in a message" sends each new email to Zapier, Make or your own tool; "Someone gives a phone number or an answer in a message" sends those). Delete next to a person makes Davnai forget them; people with no message for 12 months are removed by themselves.
- Folders and saved segments (left of the list; on a phone, the Showing menu): All contacts, your folders (named groups: a person can be in several) and saved segments (a folder or everyone, with a filter and a search, kept by name; they update by themselves). New folder makes one. Tick people (or the box at the top for everyone shown) and choose Add to folder, or Take out of the folder you're in. In an automation's last step, Put them in a folder files everyone it reaches (the waitlist fills Waitlist once they give their email); a folder says which automations fill it. Choose a folder or filter, then Save as segment to keep that view. Rename and Delete folder are above the list (deleting a folder keeps its people in Contacts). Export (CSV) exports the folder or segment you're looking at. Send a campaign opens Campaigns with those people chosen.
- Import (CSV): choose a CSV with a column of emails or Instagram @handles (a header row naming the columns helps; without one, Davnai reads each cell). The people in it who have already written to you go in the folder you choose (or a new one). Instagram and Facebook only let you message people who wrote to you first, so anyone else is listed back, not added: invite them to comment your word or message you, and your automation brings them in. Up to 5,000 rows; nothing new is made in Contacts.
- Automations → Campaigns: one message to a folder, a saved segment or everyone in Contacts. Name it (only you see the name), choose Send to, start from a ready message (Launch: we're live, A discount code, Something new is out, Event reminder) or write your own ({first name} fills their name; any [PLACEHOLDER] must be filled in, whatever its case), add a link and the words on its button if you like (A discount code has its
own Code box: the code goes on its own line under the message), then Now or Schedule (a day and time, in your own time zone), and Send now, Schedule campaign or Save draft. Under Send to it says how many get it now and how many get it when they next message you: Instagram and Facebook allow messages only within 24 hours of the person's last message, so the others get it as soon as they write again, for up to 7 days (then it's left). Telegram has no such limit. People who replied STOP never get it, and every campaign ends with "Reply STOP to stop these messages." Send a test sends it now to someone who wrote to you today (for example your own personal account). Campaigns go out a few people a minute beside your automations, so replies never slow down, and they wait while Pause everything is on. Your campaigns on the right shows the newest five; View all opens All campaigns: search, status (sent, sending, scheduled, drafts, cancelled) and order (newest, most opened), five at a time with Show more. Choose one to see its results: sent, opened the link (each person once), replied and still waiting, who opened it and who wrote back, and Send again to new people (a copy that leaves out everyone it already had), Duplicate, Edit (drafts and scheduled ones), Cancel or Delete. Instagram doesn't tell apps who saw a message, so opens and replies are counted instead. Campaigns come with automations on your plan.
- Automations → Results: for one automation (or all) and the last 7 or 30 days, From comment to email (comments with your words, replied to, messages sent, opened the link (a real open of the link, not only a tap on Send me), new followers, emails), Which reply works best (each reply version's share of taps once it has reached 10 people, with Use only A to keep the winner), People reached each day (a line over 14 days, each person once a day), Where they came from (a ring of the people reached by platform) and Every automation, last 30 days (its Opened link column counts real opens of the link). Your links lists every link your automations sent, the main link and each extra button, across all automations (it shows once two or more links have gone out), most opened first: the button's words and address, the automation, People who opened it (each person once) and Total opens (every tap). Choose 7 days, 30 days or All time, search by link, button or automation, and Show all after the first 10; click a link to see that automation's results. Link previews and security scanners aren't counted, and links you post yourself (captions, your bio) aren't tracked.
- Automations → Activity: what your automations did in the last 14 days, by day: what went, what Needs you (posts waiting for your OK, comments left for you) and what was Not sent, with the reason. Beside it: Pause everything (nothing replies, messages or posts until you switch it back on; replies wait and posts wait for you; STOP still works), Quiet hours (no posts and no replies to comments in those hours, in your time zone; replies go when they end) and the Weekly summary email on Mondays. The Automations list shows your quiet hours and has Pause everything too.
- Your automations (20) on the Automations page shows how many you have and the 5 most active; View all opens All your automations: every one with its switch, a search (name, word or account), All, Conversations or Posting, on and off, and the order (on first and most recent, or name A to Z). Click one to edit it.
- On a phone the builder shows one step at a time: the step tabs at the top (1 When … 5 Then), or Next and Back under each step; the last step's button goes to How it will look.
What does Analytics show?
Social Studio → Analytics shows views, watch time, new followers and likes, comments and shares for the last 7, 28 or 90 days, each compared with the period before, for All accounts together or one account; views per day (a line, with the peak day), and beside it views by platform (a ring; a platform that doesn't share views, like Bluesky, is left out rather than shown as zero); a small line in the Views card; your best days to post (average views by day of the week); and your top posts (up to 50, ten to a page). With more than one account, Your accounts lists each one on a line, busiest first: its views, likes, comments and shares, and followers (the total now where the platform shares it, otherwise new followers). The first six show; Show all opens the rest, and choosing an account shows only its numbers. Up to 20 accounts are counted together; with more, a note says so and you can choose any one from the menu. If some accounts can't show their numbers, one note lists them and the totals leave them out. Choose the account and the period (Last 7, 28 or 90 days) from the two menus at the top. The numbers are fetched from each platform at most every 15 minutes (platforms update them a few times a day), so the page opens quickly when you come back or switch account. Each platform shares different numbers, and what one doesn't share shows as a dash:
- YouTube: everything, including watch time and subscribers gained minus lost.
- Facebook: views, new follows minus unfollows, and engagement on your Page's posts.
- Instagram: views and interactions; new followers for the last 30 days; the chart counts people reached per day.
- Threads: views, likes, replies, reposts and quotes (Threads doesn't say how many followers are new).
- TikTok (once TikTok has approved Davnai for it; until then it shows Soon): views, likes, comments and shares of each video. TikTok gives each video's totals since it was posted, not numbers per day, so a period counts the videos you posted in it, and the chart puts each video's views on the day it was posted. TikTok doesn't say how many followers are new, but a TikTok row under the totals shows the account's Followers, Likes (on all its videos) and Videos right now. Accounts connected before this must press Allow once (or connect again to see the account row).
- Pinterest: impressions (shown as views) per day, engagement (saves, clicks and reactions), your top Pins, and the account's followers and Pins now. Pinterest keeps only the last 90 days, and shares numbers for business accounts.
- Bluesky: likes, reposts, replies and quotes on the posts you made in the period, your top posts, and followers and posts now. Bluesky doesn't share views or new followers, so those show as a dash and it isn't in the chart.
- LinkedIn Pages (once LinkedIn has approved Davnai): views (impressions of the Page's posts) per day, likes, comments and shares, new followers, and the period's posts. A personal profile's numbers aren't available to apps.
Platforms update their numbers up to 2 days late, so the period ends yesterday. No money amounts are shown.
A platform says "Allow comments and numbers"
Accounts connected before Comments and Analytics existed need to allow them once. Press Allow on the yellow banner, sign in on the platform's page and approve. Your account stays connected and nothing else changes.
I removed Davnai in Facebook, Instagram or Threads
Davnai is told straight away: its access to that account is deleted and the account shows Reconnect in Social Studio → Accounts (posts and keyword replies for it stop). If you asked Facebook, Instagram or Threads to delete your data, Davnai deletes the connected account and everything kept for it, and gives the platform a confirmation code; you can check it on davnai.com/data-deletion.
Can Davnai add subtitles to my YouTube video?
Yes. When the video has spoken words, Add subtitles to the video under YouTube's extras (New post) is on: Davnai uploads the words, timed to the finished video, as switchable subtitles. Viewers can turn them on or off, and they help people find the video. If YouTube doesn't take them, the video still goes up and the post says so.
Does Davnai see my password?
No. You sign in on the platform's own page; Davnai never sees or keeps your password. Davnai keeps only the access the platform gives it, locked so that only Davnai's server can use it. You can remove access at any time, in Davnai (Disconnect) or in the platform's own settings.
Connecting says "That sign-in took too long or didn't match"
Davnai ties each sign-in to the moment you pressed Connect, so nobody else can connect an account to yours. If the platform's answer doesn't match (for example you started connecting another platform in a second tab, or you waited more than 10 minutes on the platform's page), Davnai now starts the sign-in again by itself once; the platform remembers you, so this is quick. You only see the message if the second try doesn't match either: press Connect again, in one tab, and finish on the platform's page within 10 minutes.
Why does an account say "needs reconnecting"?
Platforms give access for a limited time, or you may have removed it in their settings. Davnai checks every connected account in the background every few hours (and just after you open Social Studio, without making the page wait; a problem found then shows the next time you open a page), renews access when it can, and asks the platform whether it still accepts Davnai. When it doesn't (for example LinkedIn access runs out after about two months, or access was removed), the account shows Needs reconnecting on the Overview and in Accounts, and Davnai emails you. Press Reconnect and sign in again. Nothing is ever posted silently or fails without telling you.
When one post is turned down, Davnai first asks the platform whether the connection still works. If it does, only that post shows the platform's reason (with "Your account is still connected"), and the account stays connected, so there's no need to reconnect. Instagram, Facebook and Threads also disconnect an account when you change your password, log out of all sessions, or remove Davnai in their settings for apps and websites.
What if a platform restricts or blocks my account?
Platforms sometimes limit, review or suspend an account (for example after a report or for too many posts in a short time). When a platform tells Davnai an account is restricted, the account shows in red in Accounts with the reason, and Davnai emails you. Look for a notice in the platform's own app and follow its steps; when it's sorted, press Check again. Davnai can't lift a platform's restriction for you.
What are Automations?
Automations → Posting automations (Automations is in the side menu, under Publish) lets Davnai prepare posts for you. These are the kinds:
- New video → posts everywhere: when you have a new video, Davnai writes a post for each account you chose, in your Brand Kit voice, and shares it for you. Step 1, What starts it, picks where the video comes from:
- When I upload a video to YouTube: for videos you upload to YouTube yourself. Davnai looks at your channel every 15 minutes and shares each new video on Facebook, Threads and LinkedIn with a link to it. Instagram can't be used here, because Instagram needs the video file, not a link. Example: you upload "My morning routine" at 9am; soon after, your Facebook, Threads and LinkedIn each get a post about it with the link.
- When Davnai finishes editing my video: for videos you edit in Davnai. When the video is ready (Davnai looks every 5 minutes), the video itself is posted with words written for each platform, so Instagram Reels and Snapchat Spotlight work too (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Pinterest, Snapchat). Example: you finish editing a vlog; Instagram and Snapchat get the tall Short and LinkedIn and Facebook get the full video.
- Snapchat takes tall videos of 6 to 60 seconds only, posted to Spotlight with a short line. For a longer video Snapchat gets the Short made from it; with no Short yet, Snapchat is left out of that post (the others still go). In other posting automations Snapchat is used when the post has a video that fits, and left out when it has a picture.
- The words (videos edited in Davnai): From what I say in the video (the default: Davnai listens to the video and writes from its best points), From the title only (shorter posts, as before) or My own words. Writing uses 1 AI writing per video either way. A video with no speech yet (music only) is written from its title.
- Instagram: Post the vertical Short made from this video (on by default): when you've made Shorts from the video, Instagram gets the first one (tall, with captions) instead of the wide video. With no Short yet, the video itself goes. Other platforms always get the full video. Try it shows which video each platform gets.
- Only videos that appear after you switch it on are used.
- Include Shorts also shares short videos, not only full-length ones. Choose it or not, something to always include (for example "ask people to subscribe"), and when to post: as soon as it's ready (or as soon as you approve it), at a set time in your time zone, or at the best time for each platform: each platform at its own best time in the next 24 hours, from when your audience is most active (the editor shows an example, like Instagram 7:00 pm, LinkedIn tomorrow 8:00 am). With approval on, a platform's time that passes before you approve moves to its next best time.
- Reuse your best posts: your posts that did best get a second life. Best by likes, comments and shares, or views; From all your accounts or one. It uses posts you published with Davnai at least 60 days ago that the platform has numbers for, and never the same post again within 90 days. Next up shows your top posts now: untick any you don't want reused (they show Left out). The words: Fresh words each time (same message and facts, 1 AI writing a post) or The same words (no AI writing). Its picture or video goes with it, and each post goes back to the account it first did well on. When: every 1 to 12 weeks, on the days you pick, at a time or at the Best time of that day, held for your approval (the email comes a day before) or posted by itself.
- Repeat a post: paste a post (or start from a draft) and Davnai posts it again every 1 to 12 weeks on the days and time you choose. Choose the words: AI writes it fresh each time (same message and facts, 1 AI writing each), My words, the same each time (posted exactly as you wrote it) or My versions, taken in turn (2 to 10 of your own; after the last it starts again). Your own words use no AI writing; each post still counts toward your posts a month. You choose how often; some platforms can treat the exact same words posted often as spam, so a few weeks apart (or versions) is safest.
- Your own words elsewhere: a series can use My own posts, taken in turn instead of a theme; New video → posts everywhere and From my blog can use My own words, with {title} and {link} filled in for each one (for example "New video: {title} {link}"). Davnai Agent and connected AI apps can set these too.
- A series of new posts (start it with A new post every day or A weekly series): give a theme (for example "one practical tip on editing podcasts faster"); Davnai writes a new post each time and never repeats one it already posted in that series. Choose how often: Every day, Weekdays, Once a week or Pick days, and the time. For how long: Until I switch it off, 1, 2, 4, 8 or 12 weeks (Davnai shows how many posts that is), or a number of posts. Each post uses 1 AI writing, so a daily series uses about 30 a month: plans include Free 2, Starter 20 and Pro 50 a month (weekly or weekdays fits Starter).
- From my blog, newsletter or podcast: paste your site's address (or its feed) and press Find it; Davnai finds the feed (most blogs, Substack, Beehiiv, Medium, WordPress and podcast feeds work) and shows its latest piece. It looks every hour, and each new article or episode (published after you switch it on) becomes a post for each account you choose, written for that platform from the piece, with its link. Picture: the article's own picture (saved in your Library), a new AI picture (1 AI image) or words only; with a picture, Instagram can be chosen too. When: at your next free posting time, straight away (or as soon as you approve it), or at the best time. Make posts from the latest one now (when editing it) uses the newest piece right away. Each piece uses 1 AI writing.
- A picture or video with each post (series and repeats, step 3 Picture or video): Words only; The same picture or video (one from your Library on every post); Take turns from a set (up to 20; each post uses the next one, then it starts again); or A new AI picture each time (made from the post's words, square, in your brand colours when you have a Brand Kit; each uses 1 AI image). With a picture or video, Instagram can be chosen too. When your AI images run out (or a picture can't be made), the post still goes out with its words only, Instagram is left out for that post, and we email you (once a day at most). Pictures and videos are chosen from your Library (the picker's Google Drive and Dropbox buttons add one straight from there, pictures and videos).
- The next file from a Dropbox folder (series and repeats): drop pictures and videos into a Dropbox folder and each post takes the next one. Press Connect Dropbox (once; Dropbox's own window opens, and Davnai can only read your files: it never changes or deletes anything; the card then says Connected with your Dropbox account, or Needs connecting again with Connect again, and Disconnect is on the right), Choose folder (Change folder later), then the Order (Oldest first or By name (A to Z)) and When every file has been posted: Wait for new files and email me (the post is skipped and we email you, once a day at most) or Start again from the first. Coming up from the folder shows the next three files with their post times and how many are waiting; Check the folder now looks again. Posted files are remembered, so none is used twice. Pictures (up to 10 MB) go out straight away; a video is first copied into a project called "Dropbox · (automation name)" in your Library (it counts toward your video minutes, and the plan's largest file applies), then the post is written. If Dropbox stops Davnai's access or the folder is moved, the post is skipped and we email you: press Connect Dropbox again or choose the folder again.
To schedule a post you wrote yourself, use Calendar → New post, paste it, choose the accounts and Schedule. TikTok isn't offered: TikTok asks for its own choices on every post, so post there from the Calendar. Use Try it in the editor to see the posts it would write (for your newest video, or the next post) before saving; nothing is saved or posted, and it uses 1 AI writing.
Do automations post without asking me? (approval)
You choose for each automation:
- Hold for my approval (the default): when posts are ready you get an email ("Ready for your approval") with each platform's words and time, and two buttons: For a series, repeat or Reuse your best posts, posts are prepared the day before, so the email comes a day ahead.
- Approve all (one tap, no sign-in): it opens a small Davnai page showing the posts with one Approve all button; press it and the page says Approved and when each goes out. The link works for 3 days and only approves that post. If it was already approved, its time has passed, or the link is over 3 days old, the page says so with Open Davnai. The page asks for that one extra tap on purpose: some email systems open every link in a message to check it for safety, which would otherwise approve posts nobody looked at.
- Change or skip opens Approvals in Davnai (it works well on a phone), where you Approve, Open a post to edit the words first (leave a box empty to leave that account out), or Skip. Approve all there approves every post waiting (each at its own time; missed ones aren't included), with Undo for 10 seconds.
- If it still isn't approved 2 hours before its time, you get one reminder email.
- If it isn't approved by its time, it isn't posted. It stays under Waiting for you, marked "Not posted", and Post now still sends it.
- Post by itself: posts are scheduled automatically at the chosen time, with no check. They show in the Calendar like any other post, where you can change or cancel them.
Nothing an automation prepares is ever posted to an account you didn't choose.
What does "50 automations" mean? Do automations use my plan?
The plan number is how many automations you can have switched on at the same time: Starter 50, Pro 100 (Free doesn't include automations). It doesn't limit how often they run. Each post an automation writes uses 1 AI writing (Starter 20, Pro 50 a month, shared with Write), and each account it goes to counts toward your posts a month (Starter 20, Pro unlimited), so automations can't go past your plan. When this month's AI writing is used up, the automation shows "This month's AI writing is used up" and carries on next month; switch it off any time. A post that couldn't be written isn't counted.
Do automations or webhooks need an API key or another account?
No. Automations use the accounts you've already connected (YouTube is checked with the same connection you gave Davnai) and Davnai's own writing and posting. Webhooks send messages to an address your other tool gives you, so there's nothing to set up in Davnai beyond pasting that address. (Letting other tools control Davnai, for example creating posts from Zapier, isn't available yet.)
How do webhooks work?
Automations → Webhooks (Starter and Pro) sends what happens in Davnai to tools like Zapier, Make or n8n. In your other tool, start an automation with a "webhook" trigger and copy its address (it starts with https://). In Davnai press Add a webhook, paste the address, give it a name and choose what to send: A post is published, A post needs you, A post is scheduled, A video is finished, A keyword reply is sent, Something waits for approval. You get a signing key once (copy it; Davnai won't show it again; Make a new signing key replaces it). Each message is a JSON POST with the event, time and details, and a Davnai-Signature header (t=time, v1=HMAC-SHA256 of "time.body" with your key) so your tool can check it came from Davnai. Send a test checks the address straight away. If a message doesn't arrive, Davnai tries again after 1, 5 and 30 minutes; Recent sends shows what happened. A webhook that keeps failing for 3 days is switched off and you get an email. Up to 10 webhooks.
Will Davnai email me when something goes wrong with an account?
Yes, always: when a platform disconnects one of your accounts or restricts it, you get one email (from Davnai <noreply@davnai.com>) with what happened and a button to fix it. You also get an email if a platform turns down one of your posts. With Tell me when switched on (Automations → Inbox starters, or Settings → Notifications and emails), a notification comes too.
How many accounts can I connect? (plans)
- Connected accounts: Free 2, Starter 10, Pro unlimited.
- Posts through Davnai a month (written and video posts, published or scheduled): Free 5, Starter 20, Pro unlimited.
- AI writing a month: Free 2, Starter 20, Pro 50. An answer Davnai couldn't use doesn't count here; it counts toward the day's fair-use AI help instead, like Davnai Agent.
- Automation contacts a month (every plan includes automations): Free 50, Automate 2,500, Starter 2,500, Pro 5,000. A contact is one person your automations answer in a month, however many replies and messages that takes; someone already answered this month doesn't count again. When they're used up, extra contacts take over: bought once in Settings → Plan and billing → Buy extra contacts (1,000 for $9.99, 3,000 for $24.99 or 10,000 for $69; half price in Africa, paid in local money). They're used after your plan's, don't reset at the month's end and last until used. Without them, new people wait until your month starts again (people already answered still get their messages); the Automations page and Activity say so. Need a custom number? Contact us. Automate ($9.99 a month, $99.90 a year) is the plan for automations only, with Free's video limits.
- What Free's automations include, and what Automate adds: Free replies to comments with your words and sends comment-to-DM with one link, and every plan has Messages. Automate, Starter and Pro add AI replies that fit each comment (and AI that understands questions asked in other words), automations started by a message, story reply, first message, your link or QR code, a Live or an ad, your own Telegram bot, Follow to get it, questions and answers, your own questions, emails and phone numbers (with Contacts export, Google Sheets, Mailchimp and HubSpot), up to 3 buttons and a file in a message, A/B tests (reply versions and two versions of the first message) and up to 3 follow-ups after the link. Options your plan doesn't include show Upgrade in the builder.
- Choosing a plan on Pricing: Choose Automate, Choose Starter or Choose Pro opens the payment page for that plan (monthly or yearly, as picked), after creating your account if you don't have one.
- Posting automations switched on at the same time: Automate 3, Starter 50, Pro 100, not in Free (reply automations for comments and messages come with every plan). Webhooks: Starter and Pro.
Your Overview and Settings → Usage and storage show how many you've used. Limits reset each month on the day you joined.
What happens when I disconnect?
Davnai stops posting to that account and forgets its access. Anything already posted stays on the platform. You can connect it again later.
Why can't I connect my LinkedIn company Page?
Company Pages need LinkedIn's approval of Davnai; until then LinkedIn Page shows Coming soon. After that, choose Connect next to LinkedIn Page and sign in with a LinkedIn account that is an admin of the Page (Super admin or Content admin). If Davnai says you aren't an admin of any Page, ask a Page admin to add you in the Page's admin tools, then connect again. Your personal profile is connected separately (LinkedIn).
How do posting times, Next free time and Best time work?
Calendar → My posting times holds your regular times each week (for example weekdays at 9:00 and Monday at 17:30), in your posting time zone (Change to pick another). Press + under a day to add a time, or the x on a time to remove it; Weekdays at 9:00 and Use my best times fill them in quickly. Next free times shows the next few that nothing is scheduled at.
On the post screen, When has four choices:
- Publish now, or Pick a time (a date and time).
- Next free time: the post goes to your next posting time that no other scheduled post uses (within 15 minutes of it). The time is shown before you schedule.
- Best time: each account goes out at its own best day and hour in the next 7 days, so LinkedIn and Instagram can post at different times. The day comes from your own numbers (the weekday your posts got the most views over the last weeks, from Analytics); the hour is a good one for that platform. Until Davnai has two weeks of your numbers for a platform it uses a common good day for it, marked “(common)” on My posting times.
Can I upload many posts at once?
Yes: Calendar → Upload many posts schedules up to 100 posts in one go.
- Your posts: choose a Spreadsheet (CSV) (columns post, date, time and accounts, in any order; Download the example spreadsheet to start from) or Paste posts with an empty line between them. Dates can be written 2026-03-02 or 2/3/2026 (day first); times 9:00 or 5:30 pm, in your posting time zone.
- Where and when: choose the accounts (LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads and Instagram). A row with a date and time uses it; a row without one takes your next free posting time (set them in Calendar → My posting times). An accounts column can name the platforms for each row (for example "LinkedIn, Threads"). Tick Let Davnai adapt each post for each platform to have each one rewritten to suit each platform (1 AI writing per post).
- Check them: each row shows Ready or what to fix (no words, too long for a platform, a time that has passed, Instagram needs a picture). Click a post to edit it, press + to add a picture or video from your Library, or remove a row. Then Schedule. Each account a post goes to counts toward your posts a month; the page shows how many it will use before you schedule.
TikTok and YouTube aren't offered here: TikTok asks for its own choices on every post, and YouTube needs a video.
Can a keyword reply also send a private message?
Yes, on Instagram and Facebook only. YouTube and Threads have no private messages, so comments there always get the public reply. In a keyword rule, tick Send a private message too (the i beside it says which platforms), then choose how:
- Reply + message: your public reply under the comment (for example "Sent you a message!") and the private message. Counts as 2 keyword replies.
- Message only: just the private message, nothing public. If the message can't be sent (the comment is more than 7 days old, or the person doesn't accept messages), your public reply is posted instead, so nobody is ignored. Counts as 1.
What each account gets under the message shows, for every account in the rule, "Reply + message", "Message only" or "Reply only" (with why). Recent shows what really went for each comment.
Setting it up, step by step
- In Social Studio → Accounts, connect your Instagram professional account or Facebook Page. If it was connected before private messages were switched on, press Reconnect once (the rule tells you which).
- In the rule, write the public reply. It's always needed: it goes on YouTube and Threads and wherever a message can't be sent.
- Tick Send a private message too, choose Reply + message or Message only, and write the message with your link (used exactly as you write it, up to 1,000 characters).
- Check What each account gets, press Try it on a comment, tick the box to let Davnai reply, and Save rule.
Meta's rules: one private message per comment, only within 7 days of it, and only to people who can receive messages from your account. Davnai never messages anyone who didn't comment. Each comment is answered once. Until Meta approves Davnai for messaging, the option shows Soon and comments get the reply only.
How do I connect Bluesky? And Pinterest or Snapchat?
Bluesky connects in Davnai with an app password: a separate password just for Davnai, so you never share your real one. In Bluesky open Settings → Privacy and security → App passwords, add one called "Davnai" and copy it. Then in Social Studio → Accounts press Connect next to Bluesky, enter your handle (for example you.bsky.social) and paste the app password. Davnai uses it once to sign in and keeps only the sign-in Bluesky gives back (sealed); delete the app password in Bluesky to remove Davnai's access at any time. Bluesky takes posts of up to 300 characters, pictures up to 1 MB, and videos up to 3 minutes (50 MB from Davnai); links and hashtags in the words become clickable.
Pinterest posts need a picture or video; the first line of your words becomes the Pin's title and the rest its description. Pins go on your first board, so if a post says Make a board on Pinterest first, create a board in Pinterest (any name) and press Try again on the post.
Snapchat: press Connect next to Snapchat and sign in: Davnai posts to your Snapchat public profile (make one in the Snapchat app first: Profile → Create Public Profile). In the post screen choose Spotlight (with a description of up to 160 characters; hashtags work) or Story (choose how long it stays up: 1 day, 2 days, 3 days or 1 week), and add a Link if you like. Snapchat takes tall MP4 videos (9:16, at least 540×960) of 6 to 60 seconds; make a Short first if your video is longer.
