How to connect Davnai to Claude
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector. (On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds it once under Organization settings → Connectors; everyone then chooses Connect.)
- Paste Davnai's address. You'll find it in Davnai under Settings → Connected apps → Connect an AI app (it ends in
/mcp; Copy address copies it). If Claude asks how it should identify itself, choose Register automatically. - Claude opens Davnai's sign-in. Sign in if you need to, then read the screen Allow Claude to use your Davnai account? and choose Allow. Choose Don't allow to cancel; nothing is connected.
- You're back in Claude, and it can now use Davnai when you ask.
Settings → Connected apps shows these steps too: choose the Claude or ChatGPT tab.
How to connect Davnai to ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode. (In a ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace, an admin may need to allow it first. Which ChatGPT plans can add connectors is up to OpenAI and can change.)
- Back in Apps & Connectors, choose Create. Name it Davnai, paste Davnai's address from Settings → Connected apps (Copy address), and choose OAuth for authentication.
- ChatGPT opens Davnai's sign-in. Sign in if you need to, read the screen Allow ChatGPT to use your Davnai account? and choose Allow.
- In a ChatGPT chat, choose Davnai from the + menu, then ask.
Other AI apps that support MCP connectors connect the same way, with the same address.
What a connected app can do
A connected app can always look: your connected social accounts (and which need reconnecting), your recordings, edited videos and Shorts (with what is said in them), your pictures, your calendar, what's left on your plan, your automations, keyword replies (with every setting) and webhooks (never their secrets), your posting times and best times, your results (views, engagement, followers and top posts), the comments waiting for a reply, your automations' conversations in Messages and your Contacts (names, emails, phone numbers, tags and answers), an automation's chat link, Your links (how many people opened each link your automations sent), your campaigns with their numbers, your Contacts folders and saved segments, your inbox starters, your own automation templates, your AI Director plans (every cut in words), the moments that could be Shorts, the videos being made, and your Brand Kit.
It can give you a link to upload a video from your computer (chats can't pass video files to Davnai): the link opens Davnai's own upload window, in a project you name or where you choose one. It works only when you're signed in to Davnai as yourself, so the link gives no access to anyone else; the video goes from your browser straight into your Davnai with the usual checks and plan limits. Afterwards the app finds the new recording in your videos. Links to files (Dropbox, Google Drive or any web address) can't be added from an app; add those with the Drive and Dropbox buttons in Davnai.
It can also add posts and pictures:
- It writes a post (or asks Davnai's writer, which uses your plan's AI writing) and adds it to your calendar for the accounts you name, with a video or picture from your library, or a picture it made. Davnai checks each platform's rules, just like the post screen.
- Unless you allowed it to publish, the post waits for your approval: you get an email, and it shows under Automations as "From Claude" (or the app's name), with Approve and Skip like any other waiting post. Posts count toward your plan's posts only when they're approved.
- It can ask Davnai's Image Studio to make a picture (uses your plan's AI images), or save a picture it made itself into your pictures (uses your storage).
- It can make a design (a quote card, a list, big words or a simple thumbnail, in your brand colours): Davnai draws it and saves it to your pictures. It uses storage only, never AI images.
- It can set a video's thumbnail ("make a YouTube thumbnail for my latest video and use it"): it designs the picture, then makes it the thumbnail of one of your recordings or finished videos. Davnai shows it on the video and YouTube gets it when you post the video there. This changes your video, so the app needs permission to make changes (like approving or publishing).
- It can design its own picture (an ad, a banner, a promo card) and send it to Davnai as a design: Davnai draws it on its own server and saves it to your pictures, ready to post, usually within a minute. It can use your pictures and your Brand Kit logo, but nothing from the internet. It uses storage only, never AI images.
- It can send a script to your teleprompter ("write me a 30-second script and send it to my Davnai teleprompter"): it's waiting in Record → Saved scripts, and it can list the scripts you have. It doesn't use your AI writing.
- It can add an automation (a series, a repeat, new video → posts, or a blog or podcast feed) or a comment and message automation with every builder step: what starts it (a comment, a message, a story reply or mention, a first message or its link), which posts (any, chosen, your next post, Lives, ads), the reply, the private message with its link and buttons or answers to people's questions, the follow check, your questions, the email and phone asks, the reminder, a tag, two versions of the first message and connected tools. New ones are saved switched off for you to switch on in Automations, with your own tick that Davnai may reply in your name. An app you allowed to publish can switch one on straight away instead, but only after telling you in the chat that it will reply and send messages in your name and you say yes; Davnai then emails you, and Automations shows "Added by ChatGPT" (or the app's name) so you can switch it off with one tap. It can also change an automation (it stays on or off as it was) and take a conversation over or hand it back in Messages.
- It can ask the AI Director for a plan for one of your recordings, or change a plan (uses your daily AI help): the same plan as in Davnai, with transitions, speed changes and freezes, sound between parts, Explain it layouts and the 24 caption styles. Changing one item (a transition, a speed, a freeze, a sound shift, a layout, the caption style or where captions sit) is like Adjust here and doesn't use AI help. It can also look for more Shorts (uses 1 AI re-run). A plan is only a plan: nothing is made until it's approved.
Publishing and approving is only for apps you allow: tick Also let … publish and approve posts on the Allow screen, or choose Allow publishing in Settings → Connected apps. The app can then schedule or publish posts without waiting, approve posts that are waiting, cancel or move scheduled posts, reply to comments and to messages in Messages as your account, pause or switch on automations, switch on an automation it adds, and add a webhook (its secret is shown to you in Davnai, never to the app). It can also make videos for you: approve an AI Director plan, make Shorts, resized copies, copies with captions and joined videos (these use your export minutes), and change your Brand Kit. Before approving a plan the app shows you the whole plan in the chat: the new length, the new opening line, every cut with the words that go, the Shorts, every transition, speed change, freeze, sound shift and layout, and the export minutes; you can leave single items out. If the plan changed since it showed you, Davnai refuses and the app shows you the new one. Claude and ChatGPT ask you in the chat before they do it, Davnai emails you each time (about posts and about videos it starts making), and you can cancel any post on your calendar until it goes out. Stop publishing in Settings → Connected apps takes it away again.
Claude and ChatGPT may also check with you first before the app saves a picture from a web address, adds an automation, replaces a video's thumbnail, or asks the AI Director for a new plan or changes part of one (these replace what was there or reach outside Davnai).
A connected app can never delete anything, never go beyond your plan's limits (it gets the same message Davnai shows you), and never sees your password or your social media logins.
Automations, board 84: an app allowed to create can also change every new automation setting (up to 3 follow-ups, a discount code, a Contacts folder, answering the words in messages too, every comment, the last 7 days, your next story), automate a post you scheduled in Davnai (saved switched off unless it may publish and you said yes), put contacts in a folder, and save an automation as one of your templates. Sending a campaign and setting inbox starters reach people or change your Instagram, so they need permission to publish (a campaign can still be saved as a draft for you to send from Davnai).
Apps Davnai doesn't let in
Anyone can give an app any name. If an app calls itself Claude or ChatGPT but doesn't come from Claude or ChatGPT, Davnai shows Davnai stopped this app and nothing is connected. Other apps show a warning: only allow them if you started the connection yourself from an app you trust.
See and disconnect your apps
Settings → Connected apps lists every app you've allowed, when you allowed it, when it was last used and what it may do. Allow publishing / Stop publishing changes whether it can publish. Choose Disconnect to stop an app straight away; it can't use Davnai again unless you allow it again from the app.
What they did lists everything a connected app asked Davnai in the last 30 days, and whether it was done or stopped (for example by a plan limit). The newest 10 show first; Show more shows the rest, and Show less folds them away again.
Problems connecting
- "This link has expired": the sign-in took too long or was already used. Go back to the app and start again.
- The app says it isn't connected or was disconnected: connect it again from the app (step 1 above).
- "Too many requests from this app": an app can ask Davnai up to 60 times a minute and 1,000 times a day. Wait a minute and try again.
