Home
Home is your creator studio. The ivory canvas, charcoal menu and soft yellow actions follow your Appearance setting, with a warm charcoal version in dark mode.
- Home has two paths (board 68): Make and post content and Automate replies and messages. Which one leads follows what you used in the last 30 days:
- Both (or neither yet): the top card shows the two paths side by side. Make and post content has Upload video (charcoal; it opens the upload window right on Home), Record and the Describe what you want box, which sends your request straight to Davnai Agent. Automate has one button, Set up an automation, which opens quick setup (pick a post, the word and the message; or Accounts first when nothing that can send messages is connected). The line under Automate names private messages only where they're switched on. On a phone the two paths are stacked, and the side you used most recently comes next.
- Content only: the top card says "Your next story is one recording away" with Upload video, Record and the Describe box; automations are one card on the right (Set it up in 2 minutes).
- Automations only: the top card shows how many people your automations reached this week, with Set up an automation and See results; your automations and newest contacts come first, and making content is one card (Try it with one video).
- Settings → Appearance → Home shows first lets you choose: what you used most recently (recommended), Create and publish, Automate engagement, or both side by side.
- Your month (board 85) shows four small charts: Views, last 28 days (a line, the change against the 28 days before, and your best post), Posts by platform (a ring of what went out through Davnai in the last 30 days), Automations (people reached, who opened your link, emails, over 30 days) and Video minutes (how much of the month's minutes you've used, and when they start again). Views and minutes fill in a moment after the page opens, so Home never waits for them. Analytics opens the full numbers, with Back to Home at the top. Start something (the five studios) sits just above it.
- On your first visit Davnai asks once Where would you like to start?: Create something to share or Reply to comments and messages. It only personalises your setup; everything stays available.
- Create something to share → What do you create? (Video, Images, Writing, A mixture; pick several) → Make your first piece (Upload a video, Record yourself, Create an image or Write a post, whichever fit your picks, or start from an idea).
- Reply to comments and messages → Connect Instagram or Facebook → Choose your first automation (Comment-to-DM, Price question or Free checklist, then their email; FAQ is coming). After connecting, Accounts shows Choose a template to come back to this step.
- Needs you puts everything waiting in one strip: posts waiting for your OK, a plan ready to review, videos ready to post, accounts to reconnect for messages, and comments Davnai left for you.
- Pick up where you left off (it used to be called Continue) shows up to 4 cards, each with its next step:
- an edit in progress: Keep editing;
- a new recording: Finish my video (or Review the plan when Davnai's plan is ready);
- a made video: Keep editing (or Open);
- something still being made: how far it's got.
Everything in Library opens the Library. Under it, once an account is connected, How your posts are doing shows views, likes and comments and new followers for the last 28 days (Analytics opens the full numbers). Before that, or when the numbers can't be read, Ideas for your videos shows up to three next steps Davnai finds in your own work (Not now hides one for 14 days on this device).
- Your automations this week: people reached, link taps and emails, and the automations that are on.
- Beside Pick up where you left off (4 of your newest pieces of work): Your automations (2 that are on), Coming up this week (the next 2 scheduled posts) and Newest contacts (the 2 newest), so both sides line up; All automations, Calendar and Contacts open the rest.
- Ready to post (content first): finished videos and Shorts not posted or scheduled yet, with Schedule them.
- Finish setting up lists what's still to do: your first video, your logo and colours, where you post and your first automation (automations first: connect Instagram, then Facebook too, and your first automation). It stays until every step is done, or until you press Hide (remembered for your account).
- Start something opens Recording Studio, Video Studio, Image Studio, Social Media (write and post; Writing lives there now) and Automations. Your posting calendar is in Social Media → Calendar.
- Nothing is edited or published until you take the approval steps.
This month (the plan card)
At the bottom of the menu, the plan card (no link under it any more; board 44) shows your plan (for example PRO) and this month's video minutes ("212 of 600 min this month"), or the allowance that needs attention when one is nearly used up (amber from 80%, red from 95%). Click it to open This month: when your allowances reset and how many days are left, then video minutes, export minutes, AI re-runs, AI pictures, AI writing, scheduled posts, automation contacts and storage, each with a bar. Only what your plan includes is listed. See plans compares plans, Usage details opens Plan & usage, and Manage storage opens your storage.
Account and profile picture
The account menu in the top-right (your picture and first name) shows your name, email and plan, and links to Profile & settings, Plan & usage, Manage storage, What Davnai remembers, Appearance (Light, Dark or Device) and Sign out. In Settings, upload a PNG, JPG or WebP profile picture up to 3 MB. Your picture appears in the top bar and the account menu. Settings → Notifications and emails → Emails: switch off the emails you don't want. When a long video is ready emails you when a video takes more than 10 minutes and you've left Davnai, with a button to post it; Posts waiting for your approval (and their reminder; with this off, check Approvals yourself); When an automation needs you (a webhook switched off, AI pictures used up, a Dropbox folder empty or disconnected); New contacts from your automations (once a day from 9 am your time, a list of the people your automations reached for the first time, with where they came from and their email if they gave one; only sent on days there are some); and Your team (posts sent to you or sent back, mentions). All are on until you switch them off. Emails about sign-in, your plan and payments, storage, files about to be removed and social accounts that need you are always sent. The weekly summary of your automations has its own switch in Automations → Activity. Every Davnai email ends with the same footer: links to the Help centre, Contact support, Email settings, Privacy and Terms, why you got it, and support@davnai.com (or just reply).
Where did Create go?
The Create page and the gold + Create button in the top bar are gone, and old links to Create open Video Studio.
- To upload, press Upload a video on Home or in the Library (see uploading).
- To record, press Record on Home or in the menu.
- To do something with a video (Finish my video, Shorts & Reels, captions, music, join, split, resize and more), open Video Studio, or press Edit on a recording in the Library.
- Pictures are in Image Studio and the Brand Kit; writing is in Writing Studio and Social Studio.
Renaming
Recordings and edited videos can be renamed: ⋯ → Rename on any card, or the pencil next to the title on a recording's own page in Video Studio. A recording keeps its file type (".mp4"). An edited video's name is also its file name when downloaded.
Opening a card
Click or tap anywhere on a card (picture, title or details) to open it. The ⋯ menu and the select box (top right of the picture) don't open the card. Each card shows one status on its picture, the most important one (for example Upload failed, Deletes in 3 days, AI edit ready, Transcribing, Ready); hover over it to see the others. The line under the name says whether it's a recording or an edited video, its project, size and when it was made.
Content Library
The Library is the one place for all your files: everything you upload or make, across all projects, in one place (the line at the top shows how many originals and edited videos you have and the same storage total as the meter in the menu), with search, a project filter, sorting and the same ⋯ actions as on the project page. The tabs are Everything, Recordings, Made, Pictures and Recently deleted; an Unfinished edits tab appears when you have saved edits not made yet, a Shorts tab appears once you've made Shorts, and Pictures shows everything from Image Studio (tap one to open it there; the arrow downloads it). Every card shows a thumbnail (the best moment of the video, preferably with a clear face, one you chose with Use this frame as thumbnail in the player, or a picture you chose with ⋯ → Thumbnail from a picture); players show it until you press play. Edited videos show their shape and where they suit (for example Wide 16:9 · YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn). On a computer, Play and Post appear on the picture when you point at a card; on a phone, cards are rows with Post under them. Once posted or scheduled, the card says Posted or Scheduled for the day. Tick several edited videos (the box on the picture) and press Schedule these to put them into your posting times in one go. On a recording, Edit opens Video Studio with that video chosen. New uploads have a New tag for a day. The newest 24 show first; press Show more at the bottom for the next 24. Search, the project filter and sorting always look through everything, not only the cards on screen.
Getting ready and Unfinished edits
On the Everything tab, two rows appear at the top when there's something in them:
- Getting ready: recordings Davnai is still writing down or suggesting edits for. Each has Edit, so you can start straight away.
- Unfinished edits: edits you saved but haven't made into a video yet. Each has Keep editing. The Unfinished edits tab lists them all.
What does Keep editing do?
Videos made in the video editor or with Finish my video have Keep editing. It reopens the same timeline exactly as you left it: every cut, caption, picture and transition. The page you land on after pressing Make in the editor has Keep editing too.
Videos made with a quick tool (for example Add captions or Resize) or as Shorts don't have Keep editing. To change one, use its ⋯ menu → Edit more → All video tools: that starts a new edit from the finished file.
Why do I see "3 versions" on a video?
Each time you make a video again (from the editor, Join or Finish my video), Davnai saves it as a new file and keeps the earlier ones. Videos with the same name, in the same project, made with the same tool and in the same shape are versions of one video. The Library and the project page show the newest one, with a "3 versions" label. Click Show older versions to see the others; each says "Version 1 of 3" and so on. Delete the ones you don't need. Different shapes of one video (for example 16:9 and 9:16) are separate videos, not versions.
I opened an edited video in the editor. Why isn't it a recording now?
To give you every tool on an edited video (captions, words, mistakes), Davnai makes a hidden working copy of it. The copy is never listed under Recordings and never counts video minutes or storage. It is kept for as long as the edited video is kept, and removed when the edited video is deleted. You only ever see the edited video once.
A recording says "Keep period ended"
Your plan keeps the original recording file for a set time. When that time ends, the file is removed, but everything you made from it stays under Made. On the project page these recordings are summed up in one line; click Show to see them.
Can I drop videos straight onto the Library?
Yes. Drag videos from your computer onto the Library page: it says Drop videos here, and the upload window opens with them already uploading into your last project (you can pick another project under Keep it in). You can still use the gold Upload a video button, which also takes files from Google Drive or Dropbox.
Projects
Projects shows each project with how many videos are scheduled and posted; the New project card at the end of the list starts a new one. A project page shows Recordings first, then Made from this project (everything edited from them), one under the other. Record records straight into that project, and Recently deleted shows what you removed there.
What does Upgrade on This month mean?
When something on your plan is running low (minutes, storage, pictures), the This month card shows Upgrade, which opens Plan and billing. On a tablet it also shows on Home while you're running low.
A made video's own page
Every made video has its own page: in Library open its ⋯ → Open its page (or Open under it), or tap a made video in Pick up where you left off on Home. It shows the video, then:
- Keep editing: the timeline it was made from, exactly as you left it (videos made in the video editor or Finish my video). Start a new edit from this video uses the finished video as a new start instead.
- Quick changes: Resize for platforms, Add captions, Finish my video, Join with others, or All video tools.
- Use it: Post and Download.
- Versions: each time you made it again, newest first, and the recordings it was made from.
