Finish my video

• Video Studio → Finish my video (the first tool in Edit it, and the first tile on a recording's page).
• ⋯ → Finish my video on a recording in a project or the Library.
• Home → Pick up where you left off → Finish my video, or Finish my video in the window after an upload, or Open my video at the end of your first visit.

When there are no AI suggestions yet (for example an edited or joined video), the page first asks How do you want to start?:

• Let the AI suggest edits (recommended): Get suggestions writes down the words, then finds mistakes, repeats, long pauses, a strong opening and Shorts. Each step shows with its progress and the page carries on by itself when it's ready. You check every change before anything is made.
• Edit it myself: Open the editor goes straight in (cut parts, choose the opening with the timer, captions, music, text and graphics). You can still ask for AI suggestions later from the editor.

Before Finish my video opens, Davnai reads the video's length and size. A card shows the steps (Saved, Reading its length and size, Finish my video opens) and the page opens by itself when it's done; you can leave it. If it takes longer than usual, press Try again. When something is wrong the same card says what happened and gives the button that fixes it:

• Can't be read (the file may be damaged or in a format Davnai can't open): Upload it again or Try reading it again.
• In Recently deleted: Restore it, then finish it.
• Original deleted (its keep period ended): See what was made from it opens the project's edited videos.
• Not finished uploading (the connection dropped): Upload it again; nothing else is lost.

Finish my video is one screen built from the video editor's own parts, with your Brand Kit's choices already on (logo, call to action, your standard intro and outro, captions as your kit says, your colour look) and what you chose for this video last time.

• On a computer: the video on the left shows everything as you choose it (captions, logo, text, look), with the editor's timeline under it. On the right are nine steps. Do any of them, in any order.
• On a phone: the video is at the top, then the steps as a list that opens in place, then Preview and Make video at the bottom.

Each step says what's on and where it came from: Brand Kit (on from your kit: change it, or switch it off for this video), On (you chose it), Off, or Review (waiting for you).

1. Tidy it up: the mistakes, filler words (um, uh) and pauses Davnai found, and every sentence that's said. Tidy it all does it in one tap: every mistake and filler cut and every pause shortened to half a second (Undo takes it all back). Or choose yourself: Cut all, cut the ones you tick, or ignore them; leave pauses or shorten them to 1.5, 1 or 0.5 s. Tap Cut this on any sentence to remove it. If the video's words are still being written down, the mistakes and pauses appear by themselves when they're ready.
2. How it starts: start on a strong moment Davnai found, or use the playhead (3, 5 or 8 seconds), or no opening.
3. Intro & outro: your saved intros and outros first, then the designed ones.
4. Text & pictures: name titles, key points, quotes, counters, lists, callouts and chapters, plus pictures and clips put in or shown over your video.
5. Captions: style, position and language.
6. Music: a track, how loud, quieter under your voice.
7. Look & sound: clean sound, a sharper picture, a steady camera, the colour look, and Your voice (record your own voice over the video; see voiceover).
8. Watermark & call to action: your watermark (logo, your name or handle, or both; where, when, Move it around), a Subscribe or Follow button, and Cover a part of the video.
9. Shape & quality: one or several shapes (16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:5) and the quality.

Tap anything on the video or the timeline to change it; Back to the steps returns to the list. Undo and Redo work for every change.

Open the full editor (top right, or under the steps) switches to the video editor with everything you did here: the same cuts, text, intro and outro, captions and so on. See Video editor.

Preview plays your video from the start, as it will be made, with the cuts, opening, intro and outro, captions, text, logo and call to action.

Make video opens the same Make your video window as the editor: what you'll get, the shapes and the quality. The video is made in one go, and its page opens straight away and plays while the full-quality file is saved.

Back returns you to the page you came from. Your edit is saved with your account as you go, so it's there the next time you open Finish my video for this recording, on this or another device (computer or phone). Your original recording never changes.

Make Shorts stays its own tile in Video Studio (Shorts & Reels) (and Shorts by time for videos without speech).

The recording's video minutes were counted when it was first processed. The finished video uses export minutes equal to its length (shown on the bar). See video-minutes.

When you play a finished video, How was this video? appears under the player: tap thumbs up or thumbs down, and add a short comment if you like (up to 500 characters). You can change your rating any time. The team reads every thumbs down to make Davnai better; it doesn't change your video or use any minutes.
