Plans, the free trial and billing

Is Davnai free?

There's a Free plan, and every new account starts with a 7-day free Starter trial: no card needed. After 7 days you move to Free, unless you've chosen a plan. Nothing you made is deleted when that happens.

The free trial

  • A banner at the top of every page shows the days left: quiet at first, amber with 2 days left, red on the last day. Its button (Add a card / Keep Starter) opens the secure payment page.
  • You can add a card on any day of the trial: you keep every free day, and the first payment is the day the trial would have ended. You can also choose Pro or yearly then.
  • Once you add a card, for a day the banner says your plan, the day it starts and the card's last 4 digits, then goes.
  • On the last day you also get an email ("Your … trial ends today") if no card is in.
  • With no card, on day 8 you move to Free. A note says so once ("You're on Free now. Everything you made is still here."), with See plans; scheduled posts that need a paid plan pause until you choose one.

Where to find it

Settings → Plan and billing (Settings has tabs at the top: Account, Plan and billing, Usage and storage, Appearance, Emails, What Davnai remembers). The page starts with your plan: its status, Monthly or Yearly, the price, the next payment (or renewal) date and your card, with Change plan and Change card. Under it: Invoices, Usage this month (minutes, storage, connected accounts and pictures), and Cancel plan. On a phone, tap a plan to pick it and use the one button at the bottom. The Pricing page shows prices in your own currency where you'd pay by card in it, with "about $9" under them.

Paying yearly saves 2 months

A year costs ten months. On yearly, the page says how much you save ("You're saving $38 a year by paying yearly"); on monthly it offers "Pay yearly and save … a year" with Switch to yearly. Each plan shows its saving under the Yearly price.

Founding member price

While a founding price is on, the plans show it with the regular price that comes after it ("Founding member price · $29 a month from 31 Dec 2026"). Everyone who subscribes at the founding price keeps it while they stay subscribed, and the page marks it ("Founding price"). Changing to another plan or period uses the price at that time.

Tax

Prices don't include tax. Where Davnai charges it, GST/HST, VAT or sales tax is added on top at checkout, worked out from your billing address, and shown on each invoice (businesses can add their tax number at checkout). Africa (Flutterwave) is charged without it.

Choosing a plan and paying

Settings → Plan and billing: Monthly or Yearly · 2 months free (a year costs ten months), then Choose (or Keep Starter · add a card on the trial). Paying happens on a secure payment page (Stripe: cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay); Davnai never sees your card number. You come straight back with your plan on and a receipt by email. Early members pay the founding price shown on the Pricing page. After paying, the same place shows your plan with Active, the price and the next payment date, Change to … (another plan), Switch to yearly, Payment method with Change card, Invoices with Download, and Cancel plan: you keep the plan until the end of what you've paid for, then move to Free (nothing is deleted); Keep my plan undoes it. Changing to another plan charges the difference straight away (or credits it when the new plan costs less), and the new plan starts once that payment goes through. If a payment doesn't go through, a red banner says so with Update card; the payment is tried again for a few days.

Paying from Africa

Everyone in Africa pays by card through Flutterwave, on its secure page. Where Flutterwave takes cards in the local currency (for example Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Malawi and the CFA franc countries), prices show in that currency with "about $9" under them, worked out from the Africa price at today's rate; Pay in US dollars instead switches to dollars. Elsewhere in Africa prices are in US dollars.

  • The paid month (or year) starts the day you pay, also during the free trial, and renews by itself.
  • Your price stays the same while you're subscribed; a new rate only applies to a new plan or a change.
  • If the exchange rate moves a lot, Davnai may ask you to move to today's price, always with 30 days' notice by email and a note on your plan page. On that day your old price stops renewing (nothing is charged), and the banner says Keep (plan) at (new price): choose your plan again to keep it. You keep the plan until the end of what you've paid.
  • Change to … and Switch to yearly open the payment page for the new plan; it starts that day and the old one stops renewing.
  • Flutterwave keeps the card it charged. To use another card, cancel and choose your plan again when the period ends. If a renewal doesn't go through, a red banner says so with Pay again.
  • Cancel plan stops the renewals; you keep the plan until the end of what you've paid for.

Bank transfer and mobile money aren't offered yet (they can't renew by themselves). Davnai can also take payments from Africa with Stripe instead (in US dollars, like everywhere else); the plan page always shows how you'll pay.

What plans are there?

Free, Automate, Starter and Pro. Automate ($9.99 a month, half price in Africa) is mainly for reply automations: Free's video limits with 2,500 automation contacts a month, a little posting (3 posting automations switched on at once, 15 posts and 10 AI writings a month) and every reply automation option (AI replies, message and Telegram automations, follow to get it, email collection, more buttons, reply versions, reminders). The plans are split by video minutes, export minutes, AI re-runs and AI images per month, total storage (Free 5 GB, Starter 15 GB, Pro 25 GB today), the largest single upload, and features. Video minutes count new recordings once; export minutes count every finished video made (see video-minutes). Today: AI images are 5 a month on Free, 10 on Starter and 20 on Pro. Social Studio: connected accounts (Free 2, Starter 10, Pro unlimited), posts a month (Free 5, Starter 20, Pro unlimited), AI writing (Free 2, Starter 20, Pro 50), automation contacts a month (Free 50, Automate 2,500, Starter 2,500, Pro 5,000; extra contacts can be bought on any plan), posting automations switched on at once (Automate 3, Starter 50, Pro 100; not in Free) and webhooks (Starter and Pro); see social-studio. Do it all runs (the AI Director does the whole job and you approve): Free 1 a month, Starter 2, Pro 10, and extra runs in packs that don't expire; see ai-director. Settings → Plan and billing shows your plan, and This month's usage what you've used. The Pricing page shows the current numbers and prices; they can change, and the page is always up to date. Where a local price exists (for example in Nigeria), visitors from that country see it in their currency. The page lists only features that exist today; planned ones are under Coming soon. To keep cards short, Starter lists "Everything in Free, plus…" and Pro "Everything in Starter, plus…", followed only by what's added. Each plan also shows how long files are kept and whether Keep is available (not on Free).

What Pro adds

Pro includes a team: you plus 2 members, more by the seat ($9.99 a month, $5 in Africa); see teams. Pro is for full-time creators and small teams. Beyond Starter it goes first when it's busy (your videos start ahead of others waiting; Home shows "Pro · first in line"), has Change my background (on other plans it shows a lock with Pro), 4K with bigger uploads (the largest upload is set per plan), and more minutes, accounts and posts. Teams in Pro (you plus 2 members, more for $9.99 a month each, all sharing Pro's limits) are coming soon.

Which plans include 4K?

4K exports are part of Starter and Pro at launch (the Pricing page shows the current list). 4K is offered only when the recording itself is 4K; everyone can make 1080p and 720p videos. The same plans can also make a recording smaller than 1080p into a 1080p (sharper text and graphics) video; on other plans that choice shows a lock.

Why is an option locked?

If a feature isn't part of your plan, it shows a lock and Upgrade (for example Captions or Davnai Agent), and Davnai won't start work that uses it. Upgrade says which plan has it and what it costs ("4K is part of Pro, $39 a month") with Not now to carry on without it, or See Pro. Everything you already made stays yours.

Can I change plans later?

Yes, any time, in Settings → Plan and billing. A bigger plan starts straight away and you pay only the difference for the rest of the month; a smaller one also starts straight away, and what you'd already paid comes off your next bills. You can cancel any time: your plan runs to the end of what you've paid, and nothing is deleted. Extra contacts you bought stay with you on any plan. When you pay through Flutterwave, changing plan opens Flutterwave's page for the new plan.

What's the difference between reply and posting automations?

  • Reply automations answer people: someone comments a word like GUIDE, sends you a message, replies to your story or starts your Telegram bot, and Davnai replies and sends them your link in a private message. They're counted in contacts (people answered a month): Free 50, Automate 2,500, Starter 2,500, Pro 5,000. This is what Automate is for.
  • Posting automations publish for you: each new video becomes posts everywhere, a daily or weekly series, a post repeated every few weeks, your blog or podcast, or your best posts again. They use the plan's posts and AI writing each month. Free has none; Automate has 3 switched on at once with 15 posts and 10 AI writings a month; Starter 50 (20 posts, 20 AI writings); Pro 100.

Every plan card on Pricing and in Settings → Plan and billing shows both, under Automations ("Replies" and "Posting").

  • AI replies don't use AI writing. When a reply automation answers with AI (under the comment or in a message), it counts only as a contact. AI writing is for posts, captions, scripts, articles and emails Davnai writes.
  • "Automations switched on" is for posting automations only. You can have as many comment and message automations switched on as you like; they're limited by contacts a month.
