What it does
- Pictures and clips on your video (B-roll and reactions): your own picture or short clip pops in, covers the screen for a moment, sits in a corner, or shares the screen with you, for a few seconds or the whole video. Your voice keeps playing.
- Watermark: your name on the video, so copies still show it's yours. What it shows: your Brand Kit Logo, Text (your name or handle; it starts with your Brand Kit's handle, change it for one video) or Both. Where: tap one of nine places, or (in the video editor) drag it anywhere on the video. Move it around changes corner every 20 seconds (fading out and back in), so it can't simply be cropped off. Look: size, see-through, and for text White, Black or your first brand colour, and its Font: the default bold or any of the 20 caption fonts (the made video uses the same font). When: the whole video, the first 2 minutes, or from–to (in the editor, also by dragging the ends of the Watermark lane on the timeline). The same settings are in the editor's Brand tool, Finish my video (step 8), the B-roll and Resize windows, Make Shorts, Split into parts and Join. Videos made before keep their logo in its corner. The Brand Kit's Video defaults → Watermark sets it for every new video, and the AI Director uses it too.
- Cover a part of the video (your own videos): an old logo, or a mark from another app on your own footage. In the editor's Brand tool (or Video Studio → pick a video → Cover a part), Cover a part puts a box on the video: drag it over the part and size it from its corner. Then choose how: Cover it with my watermark (your logo or name on a soft panel), Blur it, or Zoom in to crop it off (only when the part is near an edge; it says how much of the picture is lost, and it's for the whole video). Blur and cover can be for the whole video or from–to. Up to 4 parts. The tick This is my video, or I have the rights to edit it is required and kept with the video. Davnai doesn't offer removing other people's or platforms' watermarks.
- Intro and outro: before and after the video: a Logo card (your logo on your first brand colour, 1–8 seconds), Animated (one of your designs from the Text & graphics studio; Change or design new opens it), a picture, or a short clip (up to 60 seconds). Your standard animated intro and outro are set automatically in Finish my video, Make Shorts, Split into parts and Join.
- Animated text on the video: name titles, key points, quotes, big numbers or a Subscribe reminder at the moment they're said, placed in the studio (Add text on the video). Switch it off for one video with the switch. Used in Finish my video, Make Shorts, Split into parts, Resize, Trim and the B-roll tool (each Short, part or trimmed piece gets the text inside it).
- Call to action: a short animation (about 4 seconds) over your video: Subscribe (a button is clicked, then the bell rings; for YouTube), Follow (+ Follow turns into Following, with a heart; Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads), Like, comment & share (three icons pop in) or Link in bio (your line with a bouncing arrow). Add your channel name or handle, pick the button colour (your Brand Kit colours), where it sits (top, middle or bottom: the bottom one sits above captions) and when (near the start, near the end, both, or at a set time). For Subscribe and Follow, the card shows the platform's own logo: YouTube for Subscribe, and the platform you choose under Which platform for Follow. The logos are the platforms' official files, never redrawn or recoloured. A live preview plays next to the settings. Need more than one? Press Add another call to action (up to 3), for example Subscribe near the start, Like & share in the middle and Follow near the end. Two set for the same moment and place are shown one after the other, never on top of each other.
- Brand colour background: when a video is fitted into a new shape (Resize, Shorts, Split, Join) with a solid background, your Brand Kit colours appear next to White and Black.
Where to find it
- Video Studio → pick a video → Logo, intro & call to action: a new copy of the whole recording with pictures, watermark, intro, outro and a call to action.
- Finish my video: the Text & graphics step → Pictures and clips → Add.
- Join: choose and order the videos, then the video editor opens with them on the timeline: pictures, clips, logo, intro/outro and call to action are added there.
- Make Shorts and Split into parts: the B-roll, logo, intro & text section, with Pictures and clips (the same screen): put them at moments of your recording; each Short or part gets the ones inside it (one for the whole video is on every Short). On Shorts, "near the end" puts it near the end of each Short.
- Resize and Trim: the same section, with the text on the video that falls inside the trimmed part.
How do I add a picture or clip?
Add a picture or clip opens one screen with your video and three steps on the side. It works the same way wherever you can add pictures and clips (Finish my video, Join and the B-roll tool). No transcript or exact times needed:
- Your picture or clip: tap one of your recent pictures or clips, Upload, or See all my pictures and clips.
- How should it play? The preview above shows exactly how it will look (the real framing, not a guess). Each way has a small picture of what happens to your video:
- Pause and insert: your video stops, your clip or picture plays, then your video carries on from the same moment. Nothing of yours is cut, and the video gets longer by the clip's length. Where: At the end of this sentence (so it never cuts a word; in a pause it goes in right there), Before this sentence or Exactly here. Into and out of it: Straight cut or Quick fade. A clip plays with Its own sound or Silent; your music keeps playing either way. A picture or clip of another shape (a phone video in a wide video, a screenshot in a Short) is shown whole over a soft blurred copy of itself.
- Over your voice: it covers the picture for a moment while you keep talking (a cutaway).
- Side by side: you and it share the screen. Layout: Half and half, It bigger, Framed or Top and bottom (good for tall videos), and swap which side you're on.
- Clip big, you in the corner: it fills the screen and you stay in a box in a corner (Top left, Top right, Bottom left, Bottom right; Small, Medium or Large; a Box or a Round bubble).
- Instead of this part: it takes the place of a part of your video you don't want (for example a fumbled demo). Your own sound is left out for that part; a clip can play its own sound.
- More ways: Small, on top of you (drag it anywhere on the preview and drag its corner to resize; quick spots, Smaller / Bigger, Box or Round bubble) and Pops in (a sticker with a white border and a slight tilt that bounces in; pick the corner or tap the preview, and Small, Medium or Large; kept clear of captions).
- For how long: any length, from 1 second to the whole video (a reaction that pops in up to 6 seconds). Quick choices: Until the end of this sentence (when your recording has a transcript), 3, 5, 8 or 15 seconds, Until I press Stop, or The whole video (where you stay visible). Putting a clip into your video: All of the clip, or 3, 5 or 8 seconds of it. For a clip, Which part of the clip plays: drag the two ends to choose the part. If the clip ends first: Hold its last frame or Play it again. A picture can have a Slow zoom (so it doesn't look frozen) or stay Still.
A reaction can have a sound: Boing, Ding, Scratch or None; a clip can keep Its own sound (your voice gets quieter meanwhile) or stay silent.
Then press Play, pause where you want it, and press Add here. It plays straight away so you can see it. With Until I press Stop, press Add here, let the video play, and press Stop here where it should end. With The whole video, press Add for the whole video.
Everything you added shows on the bar under the video; one put into the video is a striped marker (it takes none of your video's time), and when you play past it the preview waits there for a few seconds to show it. Tap one to change it (every change shows in the preview): drag either end of its block on the bar to change when it starts and ends, type Starts and Ends (for example 0:12), or play the video and press Start here / End here. Play it shows just that part; Remove takes it off. Back in Pictures and clips, the list shows each one with Change.
Use your own pictures and clips (upload them, or make one in Image Studio): memes from the internet usually belong to someone else, so Davnai has no meme library.
Suggest moments
Suggest moments (Davnai Agent) reads your transcript and proposes where pictures would help, with an idea for each; then Choose picture or Create with AI (makes the picture in Image Studio style with your Brand Kit; uses one of your monthly AI images). Moments without a picture are skipped.
Thumbnail from a picture
⋯ on a recording or edited video → Thumbnail from a picture: choose one from My images (or upload). It's copied, so deleting the picture later doesn't change the thumbnail. "Use this frame as thumbnail" in the player still works too.
Good to know
- Adding B-roll, a watermark, an intro/outro, a call to action or covering a part re-makes the video (a little longer to process); your original never changes.
- Videos shorter than about 5 seconds don't get a call to action (there isn't room for it).
- Nothing counts toward video minutes beyond the recording's first processing.
- A logo watermark and the logo card need a logo in your Brand Kit; a text watermark doesn't (it needs your name or handle: typed, or the handle in Brand Kit).
