Where is it?
- The Music & transitions section in Finish my video (the Music step), Make Shorts and Split into parts.
- The Music section in Resize.
- Add music (Video Studio → Add music, or ⋯ on a recording): a copy of the whole recording with music.
- Davnai Agent: "add some calm music" opens Add music.
Does the editor's preview play the music?
Yes. The video editor's preview plays your music as it's mixed into the made video: faded in and out, lower while you talk when that's switched on, and not under the intro and outro.
Choosing music
- Davnai library: tracks Davnai has checked are free to use in your videos. Free to use tracks need nothing else. Credit needed tracks (CC BY) must be credited: Davnai shows the exact credit line to put in your video's description, and it appears again under ⋯ → Details of the finished video.
- My music: press Upload music (MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC or OGG, up to 50 MB). Only upload music you have the rights to use (your own, bought with a licence, or free-to-use). Platforms like YouTube and Instagram may mute or block videos with music you don't have rights to. Remove a track with the bin icon; videos already made keep their sound.
- Press ▶ to listen before choosing.
How the music is mixed
- Music volume sets how loud the music is.
- Lower the music automatically while someone speaks (on by default) turns the music down under speech and back up in the pauses, so your voice stays clear.
- The music starts with a short fade-in, fades out at the end, and repeats if it's shorter than the video.
Transitions
In the video editor, Transitions → Cut and add transitions for me does it for you: choose Light, Normal or Tight, then Do it. Davnai cuts pauses, fillers like "um", a word said twice and the mistakes it found (Light only cuts long pauses; Tight cuts any pause over about half a second), splits long parts where a sentence ends (nothing removed, so even one continuous take gets cuts), and puts your every-cut transition on each cut (Crossfade when you haven't chosen one). Turn either part off with its switch. It needs the transcript. Doing it again doesn't cut twice, and Undo puts it all back. Templates do the same at their own pace.
Where parts were cut out (Finish my video, Shorts and parts with "Remove pauses and mistakes"): Straight cut (the default), Dip to black or Dip to white, a quarter-second fade at each cut.
Does it cost minutes?
No. Music and transitions never count toward your video minutes.
